When Peter uses his app theres [ ] and when he's using sign language, there's ' '

*3RD POV*

Peter Parker used to be a talkative kid. Some would say loud, some would say annoying. Once he got started, there was no stopping him. His brain had a topic on his mind and he just couldn't keep it to himself. He loved to learn and retain more information and he couldn't help but share it sometimes.

People bullied him for this. Well, they bullied him for his personality in general.

When Ben died, he got no sympathy at school. No one but Ned anyway. It just gave people another reason to hate Peter.

He was an orphan.

He was bad luck.

He killed his Uncle.

It was the same thing over and over again and eventually, Peter realised people would never want to hear him. No one cared what went on in his life. No matter how important something was to him, no one would ever want to hear.

They wouldn't want to hear about his bad days.

They wouldn't want to hear how his test went.

They wouldn't want to hear how it really was his fault that his Uncle died.

But it was ok.
Ned, MJ, and May were all he had, all he needed. They were both a shoulder to cry on and were always supportive of him. Even though they had to watch him slowly break down to pieces. All they could do was try to help him put himself back together.

Yes, Peter was mostly over the events that had occurred over his life but the trauma had hovered over his head like a raincloud. It just floated above him until it was too much and the storm, no hurricane, unleashed.

That was when he made his decision.

May and Ned noticed when Peter slowly began to speak less and less. It came to a point where all you could get out of him was a gesture, like a nod or a wave.

In about a year, it became their new normal. May did everything she could to make Peter happy and he was. May meant everything to him. He just couldn't get rid of the dark grey cloud that drifted around him.

"Shoot- Peter I'm gonna be late for work! Make sure you don't forget your keys again they're on the counter! Bye love you sweetie." They hugged and Peter signed, 'I love you too.'

May never needed a verbal response. It's one of the things Peter appreciated so much about her. She never expected too much from him. She knew he loved her. If Peter was happy being silent, than she'd let him be silent.
(We love a supportive queen)

Recently, they'd started to learn sign language together. They understood a few things but not much. It was always fun as May would laugh and Peter would silently giggle as the two failed over and over again at figuring the gestures out. They'd get it eventually though.

Peter always brought what he knew to lunch to show Ned and MJ.

He met MJ the year before and they'd taken a liking to each other instantly.
