Soft but upbeat music played in the background.

I was expecting for her to be in a happy mood but I was wrong.

We were just standing beside each other, quietly preparing the things.

I glanced over her and saw her with an unreadable expression.

I opened a can of condensed milk and dipped a spoon inside.

"Psst" I whispered.

She looked over and I passed her the spoon.

Her eyebrows perk up and I shook the spoon a little, "condensed milk" I said.

She took the spoon from my hand and tasted it.

"Yummy isn't it" I smiled at her.

I felt relieved when I saw her lips quirk up, "yeah"

"Wait till we finished" I said and wore a plastic glove, "you'll love it"

She nodded and took a pair pf gloves too, the smile on her face still evident.

-

"How come yours are perfect" she pouted.

We were done mixing, all we had to do was put the M&Ms and marshmallows inside and roll it.

"Flat it out first" I said and showed her how to do it.

I took a little chunk and pressed it on my palm and then adding a piece of marshmallow before closing my palm and rolled the chunk in my hands.

"Can I just be the taste tester instead"

"No" I chuckled, "come on, give me your hand"

She held out her hand and I flattened out a chunk of it on her palm.

"Now give it a little squeeze" and she did, "roll it with your hands"

"Woah" I heard her say as the chunk came out as a clean ball.

-

We finished the first batch, although there were still some left, Chloe was already drooling over it.

"Please?" She pleaded.

"No" I said and continued rolling.

Her hand sneakily went to the bowl full of finished rolls.

"You're supposed to chill it for an hour or two" I swatted her hand away.

"But it looks good..." She said, stomping her feet.

"You'll have to wait" I smiled at her.

"Okay" she said and went back to her side.

"Good-"

Her hand swiftly went past my arms and grabbed rolls of grahams.

"Chlo!" I scoldingly called.

I tried getting the food back but she ran to the opposite side of the counter and I had no choice but to play her little game.

"Chloe!" I said and ran after her.

She turned around and popped a little roll in her mouth, "Catch me!"

She's pretty fast.

We circled through the counter and ended up running to the living room.

"Put the graham back" I panted.

We're now standing feet away from each other, we were beside the couch and she still has that damn chunk in her hand.

"Make me" she challenged.

I smirked and jumped to her, pushing her body to the couch, placing my legs on both on her sides and pinning her arms above her.

"Ha!" I exclaimed, happy that I have the higher ground.

She tried struggling but I had her wrists secured on my hands.

"You're putting those back once I let go of you, okay?" I playfully demanded.

"No" she smirked.

"We're staying here then"

Seconds passed and I saw her face turn from a playful one to something I couldn't tell; just like the expression she had earlier.

The air suddenly became thick and her eyes were staring at mine as if she was searching for something.

"Liz..." She breathed out.

I accidentally looked at her lips to which I highly regretted because now I couldn't look away, "y-yeah?"

"Do you like me?" The words that came out of her mouth shook me off of my thoughts.

"What?"

She looked to her side with a frown, "answer me"

"I mean I said I have a crush on you" I laughed awkwardly.

this position we were in was making it more difficult and I knew it'll be worse if I moved.

"I asked if you like me"

I gulped, "what's with the sudden question" I said and loosened my hold on her.

I don't know but I don't want to be in this situation.

"You're hurting me"

All movements stopped and I felt something in my chest sting.

"It wasn't that ha-"

"I'm not talking about your grip."

I saw her eyes become glossy and I felt my stomach churn.

"Don't cry" I said and immediately removed my hold on her, as well as the gloves on my hand.

I rested my hands on her face and made her face me.

Her eyes wouldn't still look at mine.

"Chloe I-" I breathed deeply, "I'm not good at words..."

She finally looked at me and I really wanted to replace that sad emotion on her face.

"I'm not good at words" I repeated, my heart starting to thump loud in my chest.

"So let me..." I leaned closer, "show you." I said, before closing the gap between us.
