"what the hell is wrong with you?!" she yells, turning around to unlock the door

ej quickly puts his hand on nini's "please-"

she yanks her arm away from him "don't touch me!"

"nini please i just need to talk to you!" he says desperately

the girl takes a deep breath and keeps her eyes away from his, waiting for him to continue speaking.

"i'm sorry for what i did! i promise i am. i was just jealous because of you and ricky-"

"that's no excuse for doing what you did!" nini shouts with her eyes shining in tears

"i know!" he exclaims "i promise i do. but i love you nini."

the girl shakes her head with a scoff, wiping a tear that fell

"nini it's true! i do love you."

nini feels her tears streaming down her face "why? ej why would you do this to me? i just don't understand-"

"i'm a terrible person. i know nothing justifies what i did. but i love you. and i really need you to forgive me. please nini."

he takes a step closer to her and she shakes her head, wiping the tears that are continuously falling down her cheeks before unlocking the janitor's closet and running as fast as she can

she couldn't do this right now. she needed to get out of there.

her vision was blurry and she was sobbing as she ran through the pavements, keeping her head down. ej's words kept replaying in her mind.

suddenly she bumps into someone hard and can't really see who it is

"nini? what happened?" the boy asks concerned

nini realizes who it is and shakes her head, not being able to form the words

"h-he-i-" she sniffles

she feels ricky's arms wrap around her, allowing her to cry into his chest, feeling his warm and safe embrace surround her.

they stay there for a few minutes with ricky reassuring her that she was okay and he decides to bring her to a secluded area where she can stabilize herself

they both sit down on a bench and he waits for her to talk

"e-ej is h-here." she squeaks

ricky takes a deep breath and looks at the girl next to him

"he-he wanted me to f-forgive him. b-but- i couldn't ricky. i-" she shudders a breath and feels his hand rubbing her back in reassurance, calming her down

"you don't have to forgive him neens. what he did was really bad and i know you're not really one to forget things so easily." he says softly

nini nods "i-i just don't want to see him right now." she says shaking her head

"then you don't have to. come on." he says, standing up

she looks at him confused as she wipes her tear-stained cheeks "where are we going?"

ricky smiles and helps her up "gina and red are at my house. i left to get ice cream, and if you wanted-"

nini nods eagerly "i'm in desperate need for-"

"strawberry vanilla swirl?" he smirks

the girl looks at him surprised "you remembered."

"you're the only person i know who would choose that over mint chocolate chip." he says as they start walking
