nini practiced all week for the concert that was happening the next day. she felt the pressure was increasing and was incredibly stressed out about it. this was the concert that could determine her career.

the plan was for ricky to sing his song as an opening for her and then she would sing her song next

the problem for her was the fact that this song was more personal than any one she'd ever written in her life as well as the fact that if she didn't mess up, it would be nominated for the billboard awards.

nini groans and shakes her head "no no no no no!"

she throws the guitar pick across the room in anger and collapses on her bed

this was the seventh time that she messed up the chord progressions vocally.

she was relieved that she wasn't playing the guitar because then that would add on to the pressure. but what was bothering her was that she just couldn't get the vocals right

when nini woke up, she heard her moms knocking on her door, telling her that she had a sound check soon since the concert was in a few hours

nini rushes to her closet to put on a regular hoodie and jeans before going downstairs

"moms is it okay if i go get something from starbucks?" she asks, taking the house keys

"okay honey." dana nods "we're going to get there in a few hours."

"alright."

nini opens the door and feels the fresh air hit her

she takes a deep breath, the butterflies in her stomach increasing in size and walks to the coffee shop to get something to eat

when she enters, she sees carlos, kourtney and ricky sitting at a table

"oh hey neens!" carlos exclaims while waving with a smile

nini waves back and sees ricky fiddling with his ring.

'he's nervous'

after she gets her order, she goes over to her friends and sits down

"how are you?" she asks ricky

the boy takes a deep breath "it actually just hit me that this is the first time i'm actually performing in front of a bunch of people on purpose."

nini smiles softly and holds up a charm "remember this?"

"what is it?" kourtney asks

the brunette smirks at the boy next to her

he looks at the book charm and groans "no don't tell them! that's so embarrassing-"

flashback

"good morning best friend." ricky smiles as he sits down on the seat next to nini

"why are you so happy?" she laughs "it's school. usually you groan a 'hello' and slump down on the chair."

ricky shrugs his shoulders "i guess i'm just proud of myself because i got the best present for you."

nini's eyes light up "what is it?!"

he smirks "i don't know."

nini whines as she tugs on his arm "ricky!"

"i'll give you a clue. it's got something to do with the charm bracelet i got you last year." he says

"so it's a charm!" she squeals "what is it?!"
