Chapter 6

"WHY DID YOU BRING HER HERE?" Klaus asked Stefan. His voice holding anger, curiosity, but most of all, annoyance. Stefan had just arrived back at the bar, and was currently holding an unconscious Aurora. Klaus didn't remember seeing the girl in Mystic Falls when he was preparing Elena for the sacrifice; yet he couldn't help but feel like he knew who she was. She was extremely familiar for a stranger.

Stefan shrugged at his question. He truly didn't understand his own actions. He just felt an unexplainable desire to take her with him. He was surprised to even see her, considering he had thought she had already died. And he was even more surprised to find her human. He knew that meant that she hadn't found her soulmate, but it didn't explain how she was able to survive in the world for so long. "I just had to take her."

Klaus shot him a look of annoyance, "You just had to take her?" he questioned. He glared at him angrily, "You brought a human from your hometown while we are searching for werewolves to turn into hybrids? Do you really think she's going to survive?"

Clearly Stefan hadn't thought anything through, but he couldn't bear to even set her down, much less take her back. "Maybe we could use her as a blood bag?" he said, his voice devoid of emotion. He tried not to show how hard the words had hit him, he didn't want to hurt her.

Klaus seemed to think over his words. The hybrid was also going through a turmoil inside of him. He wanted, no, he needed to know why she was so familiar to him. He finally spoke, "We won't use her as a blood bag." he began, his eyes narrowed as Stefan visibly sighed in relief, "But, the second she starts to get on my nerves, we are sending her back to Mystic Falls." He wanted to say they would kill her, yet he couldn't bring himself to say it. His eyes glared into the girls head, "Is she a witch?" he curiously questioned. It was the only thing that would explain why he felt the need to not harm her.

Stefan shook his head, "No. She's just human."

"Okay then." Klaus said, his questions growing by the minute, "Let's take her to the car."

AURORA WOKE UP WITH A throbbing pain in her head. She groaned and turned over onto her side. She put her hands over her eyes and tried to relax into the seat of the car. She suddenly shot up, wincing at the pain her movements caused, and looked around. She wasn't in in the back seat last night, and she definitely wasn't in Damon's car now. She looked to see who was driving and her eyes widened at the sight of an unfamiliar man. "Who are you?" she asked, her tone was strong, despite the fear she felt.

"Klaus Mikaelson." he said as he studied her through the mirror. A smirk was on his lips as he looked at the girl. It sent shivers down her spine and she watched him warily. There was something about him that just seemed dangerous.

"I would say it's nice to meet you, but then I'd be lying." She snapped, pulling a short laugh from Klaus. She then turned to face the person who was truly the reason for her wrath and pointed a finger at him. "You." she hissed, "You kidnapped me!"

Stefan gave her a deadpan look and then looked out the window. "Looks that way."

Aurora was angry. No, she was more than angry, she was livid. The first time she sees her old best friend, and dare she say, her first love, he hits her across the head and kidnaps her. She couldn't believe he would do something like that. She glanced back over at Klaus, her face still scrunched up in anger. "You must be the Original."

"Ah, so you've heard of me." Klaus mused with a satisfied look on his face. "And what's your name, love?" he asked, his thick british accent sent a jolt of familiarity through the girl, but she just pushed it away as she had met plenty of people with british accents in the past.

"I'm Aurora Lenox." The red-head said as she sat back against the seat with her arms crossed. Her head was still aching, but she didn't want to complain about it.

"Aurora Lenox." Klaus repeated, almost as if asking himself a question only he knew. "Where are you from, Aurora?"

"Unimportant." she said as she waved her hand. She looked out of the window at all of the trees. "Where are we going?"

"Unimportant." Klaus replied in a mocking tone. They seemed to be driving up a mountain and Aurora couldn't help but wonder what kind of trouble Stefan had dragged her into.

"Still haven't found your soulmate, Rora?" Stefan asked as he looked back at her.

She visibly flinched at the old nickname and glared at him, "Don't call me that." she snapped, she took in a deep breath before answering, "No. I haven't found them yet."

"Soulmate?" Klaus asked, his voice brim with curiosity. "You have a soulmate?"

"Don't you?" Aurora shot back, she was getting irritated with the conversation.

"I'm not sure, love. If I do, then I wonder why I haven't found her yet. After all, I've been alive for a thousand years." Klaus shrugged. He didn't really care about the thought of soulmates. Even if the thought of having someone to love and someone to love him back sounded tempting.

Aurora was quiet. She felt bad for the hybrid. "I'm sorry." she said. "I've only been searching for a little over a hundred years, you've been searching for a thousand."

"I wouldn't really call it searching. I never looked." he replied, an impassive look on his face. "Besides, weren't we supposed to be talking about you? How have you been alive that long when you're human?"

"For someone who's been alive for so long, you really don't know much, do you?" Aurora said with an amused expression on her face. She then began telling him of her adventures through life, and how she's still human. All while Stefan stayed quiet and listened to her words. As much as he loved Elena, he couldn't help but want to reconnect with Aurora. And for that reason, he never wanted her to meet her soulmate.
