.April 10th.
•~(Y/N) P.O.V.~• I let out a long sigh as I finally reach the club building at the back of the school. Today was a pain in the back so I was really relying on the club to cheer me up. 'Maybe Sheila and Els can make me feel better' I think to myself as I swing the door open and make my way in to the hall-like space.
Immediately I'm greeted by the Fudge the red panda as he jogs up to me. "(Y/N)!" he smiles widely with a little wave "You're on stage crew with us right?" he asks, looking up at me with a hopeful puppy-dog gaze. I giggle and nod "Yeah!" I exclaim, "Is there somewhere specific I need to go?" I ask as I watch him turn around, leading me to the rest of the group.
"We just kind of hang out over here, besides the guys on the lights of course." he explains as he points up to the lighting bay, where I'm met with the stare of the same grey wolf who had ignored me hours before. I shoot him an evil grin as he watches me, does this guy not realise when he's staring at someone? I gnarl to finally snap him out of the trance as his cheeks flush pink and he turns away sharply. He's being sort of rude to me so far, and I could tell I was going to get impatient rather quickly if he continued.
"Oh hey, it's (Y/N)!" my attention is turned back to the others with the comforting chime of Dom, who's looking to me with his sweet grin. I carefully smile back, being sure to keep my fangs hidden around the herbivores as Sanu walks in to get the club going. Today we were doing costume preparations for Adler, so we were in the back room away from the rest of the club members.
Kibi leads us all back there as they show me the costume closets, I vaguely knew of them as Legoshi showed me around a couple day's ago, but the others touring ability was way better. We all sit down in a sort of ring as Dom wheels out a clothing rack, picking off random garments and handing them to us. "Okay so," he starts, standing above us all "We need to refit these old costumes for the new actors and dancers," he explains. "(Y/N) you've got Sheilas, so I think the only adjustment it'll need is the waist." he says as he squats down beside me, running me through what to do as the others all start cutting and sewing.
It's not long before we're all at work in a comfortable silence, adjusting the costumes and changing certain design elements. The rest of the crew were being super helpful and showing me how to do it, though admittedly I'd pricked myself with the needle far too many times. Looking up I notice everyone is frozen, staring.
Following their gaze I see Legoshi holding up a costume, his eyes look vacant and depressed as he watches the fabric. What is going on? "Legoshi just uh, put that back." Dom stutters as he gets up to take the garment. The wolf boy pulls it away from his friend and traces the material gently in his hands. "This is..." he begins, taking a deep, remorseful breath "Tem's costume." he sighs with a sad smile.
Everyone nods as Fudge and Kibi wipe away tears building up in their eyes. Am I missing something right now? I attempt to shrug it off but Kai notices my confused expression, taking it in the wrong light and misinterpreting it as a distasteful look.
"What's the problem (Y/N)?" he snarls at me angrily. I panic and shake my head, stuttering and tripping on my words "I-I-..." I start before Legoshi cuts me off. "Shush Kai, (Y/N) probably doesn't know about Tem." he speaks in his deep grumble of a voice. I nod quickly at his suggestion so that the others understand.
Dom nods as Fudge the red panda leans in to my side. "Tem was a member of stage crew, (Y/N)." Dom begins explaining as Fudge pulls out a picture from his pocket to show me. Examining it I see it's all of the stage team, but instead of me there stands an Alpaca besides Kibi and Dom. He's tall and blonde, with a large smile across his face. Tem.
"We lost him earlier this year." Dom sighs, the others again nod. I tilt my head in a confused manner, which seems to spark anger in Kai in my direction yet again. "Don't look like that you stupid wolf!" he snaps, yelling at me. I flinch and sink down into my shirt. The yelling. It hurts.
The mongoose continues to spit hateful words at me as the sound around me fades and I fall into the hell-space of my own mind. I can vaguely tell the others are trying to calm Kai as I feel myself spiral. It reminds me of that day. The day I lost it all. The only thing I can think to do is whimper, it's an easy way to tell others I'm hurting in a situation such as this.
"That's enough, Kai." A low monotone growl returns me to the world around me as a large hand is placed on my shoulder. Opening my teary eyes I see a towering figure in the blur, quickly I wipe my eyes to see its Legoshi, he crouches down beside me, his demeanour is gentle and cautious.
"You might want to come with me for a minute while the others calm Kai." he speaks kindly, offering me his hand. I swiftly accept and link my palm to his, his face tints red as we stand and he leads me away to the outside of the club building...
