It's been five months since Percy was told to kill his friend. Five months since he started lying to his mother.

At first, he was going to do it. But the moment he saw his friends smiling face, he couldn't do it. So then he lied.

He lied to his mother everyday when asked about it. He lied and lied and lied. But his mother is smart. Aphrodite wanted to see the body; a body he didn't have.

Percy shivered in the living room, despite it being quite warm. Grover opened the door behind him, and without looking back he could tell his friend was smiling.

That made everything harder. Percy looked grim, and his sea green eyes looked more like the deeper part of the oceans.

He turned around to face Grover, not smiling like he normally did and instead let a tear fall.

Grover walked slowly over to his best friend, "what's wrong perce?"

"I need to tell you something," Percy said, sitting down and facing his best friend.

"Your a siren," Grover said, but seeing percys shocked face made him say more, "I figured it out when I first met you. I know your a siren,"

"Why didn't you turn me in? Why were you kind to me?" Percy asked.

The green eyed boy in front of him shrugged, "I saw it in your eyes when asked about Jason and Annabeth. I saw it in the way you were kind and helped me that day,"

"You saw what?"

"Kindness," Grover said, "I know your not evil. It's not you who wants to kill all those people, it's your mother,"

"Y-you know about my mother?"

"I did something and three came back here and found the location while you were gone. I snuck in and I heard her say to kill me,"

"Then why did you show up the next day? You heard me say I'll do it," Percy asked, confused by everything.

"Because I know your a good person. I could tell you didn't mean it, and—" Grover motioned to the room and fact that he was alive, "I was right,"

"So what if I'm good? I can't escape my mother. This was the first time I ever lied to her and now I have to kill you,"

Grovers face fell for a moment, but it was so quick percy wasn't sure if it actually happened. "But you won't kill me, I know you won't,"

"Grover, I have to. There's no other way,"

"There's always another way," Grover pleaded.

Percy felt the dagger in his pocket and shook his head, "fate dictates I'm evil,"

"Then screw fate!" Grover exclaimed. He saw something change in percy. Grover gave a grim look to his best friend, "your clutching a dagger in your pocket aren't you?"

"How'd you know?" Percy asked, not looking up.

Grover gave a grim smile, "I know you. And I know you don't have to do this,"

"I do," Percy said, before walking forward and stabbing Grover and catching him as he fell. Tear streamed down his face.

Grover gave a disappointed look, "why'd you do it, perce?"
