Nightingale gently dabs Lin Yie's face with a cotton ball soaked with alcohol. Lin Yie grimaces immediately.

Because she just woke up, Nightingale doesn't have a clear mind to use her Arts well. After healing the burns on Lin Yie's body, she can only resort to alcohol to disinfect the burns on his face.

"Don't blame me." Ifrit says, "You sat on my head."

"It was your legs." Lin Yie clenches his teeth.

"Oh. Then, you sat on my legs." Ifrit nods, "So I only defended myself subconsciously. That's fine, right?"

"You fucking burned me alive!"

"Don't smear me." Ifrit says, "I know how to control my power. It was definitely not enough to barbeque you. I just wanted to teach you a lesson."

Lin Yie jumps up in anger, "You said 'barbecue,' right?! You really said 'barbecue.'! You really tried to barbecue me!"

Ifrit shuts up immediately after realizing she said too much.

(A Devil!)

(What a devil!)

How did he come to think devils are cute? He almost got turned into a barbecue or "toasted pineapple bun" in Nightingale's words.

However, Lin Yie won't do anything about it. He already subconsciously found excuses for Ifrit, even though he is still angry.

"You said I was ambushed?" Ifrit stares at him, "Who dared to ambush Lord Ifrit?!"

"Another Sarkaz like you."

"Damn that guy!" Ifrit clenches her fists in anger, "If I didn't get ambushed, I would definitely win in a straight fight!"

Lin Yie doesn't seem convinced.

"Hey! You don't believe me?!"

"It is easy for you to say NOW." Lin Yie says, "What would that change? The fact is, you didn't even see who attacked you."

"Bull-bullshit!" Ifrit refuses to accept the fact that she was defeated. Then, she points at Nightingale to change the topic, "Isn't she a medic? Why didn't she heal me?!"

Nightingale doesn't seem to remember what happened back then, probably a side effect of Kal'tsit's drug. She just tilts her head confusedly.

Of course, Lin Yie won't just let Ifrit blame Nightingale.

He holds Ifrit's hand down and says, "If it weren't because of Nightingale, you would be bleeding all over! You got blown up. Most people lose a limb or something with that kind of damage. Look at yourself. Is there anything missing? Nightingale saved you."

Ifrit is stunned. She can't disagree with what Lin Yie said. Even though she was unconscious, she doesn't feel any discomfort right now. If there is any, it would be because Lin Yie sat on her legs.

"But if I was healed, why didn't you wake me up?" Ifrit asks, "If I woke up, I could fight the guy who ambushed me. No, I would instant-kill that guy."

"You think I didn't want to?" Lin Yie says, "You were about to explode. Why would I wake you up?"

"What?" Ifrit doesn't understand, "What did you say? Are you cursing at me?"

"No, I didn't curse at you. I was telling the truth." Lin Yie says, "If we woke you up back there, you would have exploded."

After hearing Lin Yie's explanation about the stones in her body, Ifrit calms down a bit.

"You said..." Ifrit stares at her own hands incredulously, "I almost exploded?"

"..."

Ifrit obviously knows about her oripathy, probably because of her "mother" Silence. When she understands what happened to her, Ifrit loses steam. She just sits there and stares into space.

Then, she notices that Lin Yie is still staring at her. Ifrit frowns, "What? I saved you, and you saved me. If it weren't because of me, you would have been killed. We are even."

"But you still owe me a promise."

Ifrit recalls what happened back in the coffee shop, but she feels irritated, "What if I take that back?"

"Then, I will tell your mother," Lin Yie says.

(If I don't act shamelessly, how do I still call myself an adult?)

Lin Yie didn't take her promise seriously, but after witnessing her power, he wants that promise back.

When he sees Ifrit's displeased expression, Lin Yie feels quite content with himself.

(Devils do look quite cute in the end.)

Nightingale suddenly dabs his face with the cotton ball.

"Ahhhhhhh!"
