Lin Yie doesn't know what to do.

Is she faking it?

He waves his hand over her face and asks, "Madam Chen? Madam Chen? Are you sleeping?"

No response.

He is now sure she is sleeping, but when he thinks about it, there is really no reason for Chen to deceive him. Still, he is really surprised by his talent. It is just too surreal.

Um... But this world doesn't seem logical to begin with. Was it because of advanced math? Did math beat Chen?

Lin Yie once again witnessed the power of knowledge.

Just look at Chen!

Nightingale whispers, "Pineapple Bun, she is really sleeping."

"Uhm." Lin Yie nods, but then, he asks, "Why aren't you sleeping? Are you not tired?"

Nightingale shakes her head, "Nope."

"Didn't you hear my fairytale?"

"I did, but I didn't understand a word." Nightingale nibbles on a pineapple bun she snuck out from the party, and mumbles, "So I stopped listening."

Lin Yie shakes his head helplessly.

"At least she is sleeping now." Lin Yie says, "And I finished my task, so she will think I am a professional psychologist, right?"

"A professional pineapple bun."

Lin Yie glares at her for a moment, but Nightingale just continues eating her bun. She actually doesn't want to be here. If it weren't for Lin Yie, she would have tasted every dish at the party.

Before Lin Yie leaves, he looks back at Chen again.

Is she going to catch a cold?

He picks up a blanket from the sofa and covers Chen with it.

Look at this. This is attention to detail. This must cost a fortune!

When Chen wakes up and sees the blanket, she will definitely think of him favorably.

Lin Yie is already imagining her grateful attitude.

After covering her body with the blanket, Lin Yie notices that her hand is still outside, so he moves it under the blanket, but when he touches her hand, he suddenly feels a tingling sensation through his body.

Then, his body turns numb, and his mind is slowly swallowed by never-ending darkness. He feels like he is falling, but after a while, the darkness around his turns to a white mist, and he can feel the ground again under his feet. It is raining now.

The rain is getting heavier

The rain is getting heavier.

As if it wants to swallow the whole world.

What the fuck?

The rain is scattering the mist. Lin Yie notices that he is in a rundown alley right now.

Is this Chernobog? No.

Suddenly, he hears someone sobbing. Even amid the heavy rain, he can still hear it. He follows the sound and sees a girl at the end of the street.

Is there anyone else?

Lin Yie walks towards her.

Purple hair, short antlers... Even though he had never seen this kid before, she still looks familiar. She is covered in blood, and she looks pitiful. Lin Yie squats down in front of her.

In the rain, he looks at her face and sees fear in her pearl-like, red pupils.

"It's alright." Lin Yie comforts her and reaches his hand out, "Let me help you."

Suddenly, the fear in her eyes dissipates. Maybe his ability worked. The girl also reaches her hand out, but before their fingers touch, Lin Yie feels pain in his wrist.

And that pain pulls him out of the illusory world.

When he blinks again, he sees that he is back in the room, but he is still staring at the same red pupils.

Chen says coldly, "What are you doing?"

Lin Yie pauses.

What... was that? Was that a dream?

His hand is very close to Chen's face. It looks like he was trying to touch her face, but she stopped him in time, hence the pain.

"I... tried to pull your blanket up." Lin Yie decides to make an excuse first, "You fell asleep. It seems my treatment was effective."

Chen lowers her head and sees the blanket on her. Then, she releases his hand. Neither one says anything until Nightingale asks Lin Yie when they could eat.

Chen says, "You really are an exceptional psychologist."

"Un. Thank you."

"Did I say anything when I was sleeping?"

"No."

"Really?"

Chen squints and watches Lin Yie carefully. After a moment, she gets up.

"It would be best if I didn't. Even if I did, I hope you can keep it as a secret." Chen says, "As payment, you can ask for my help if anything happens to you in Lungmen."

After that, she leaves the room.
