"What's wrong with him?" Evie asked her friend. Mal glanced up at her friend. "Audrey spelled him. I want to know if she's the reason for his strange behavior. Can you hold him still?" Mal explained. Evie nodded and looked at Jay. The young thief sighed and stepped away from the wall he was leaning against. He walked up to the table where Carlos was laying on.
"In his brain, it will be, under his skin, we will see," Mal whispered. Carlos started to groan in pain. "Hold him still," Mal said. Evie and Jay pushed him down again. After two minutes of struggling, Mal was able to get into his brain and nervous system. Carlos stopped moving, he was drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
Evie and Jay slowly stepped away from Carlos. Evie stood next to Mal. "Wow. I had no idea you were able to do this." Evie said. Mal didn't remove her eyes from the holograms in front of her. "Everyone around me always gets hurt, so I created a spell to let me see what's wrong with them so I can help instead of run away from the problem," Mal tells her friend.
Jay's eyes widened at the sight of the holograms. "There!" He said. There was a black spot on his brain's hologram. Mal zoomed in on the black spot. "I've never seen this before," Mal whispered. "What is it?" Jay asked.
"It's magic., but it's not like my magic. It's dark." Mal tells him. "Like our parents' magic?" Evie questioned. "Kind of, but not exactly." She said and tried to look closer. "What do you mean?" Evie asked. "This magic seems to be less powerful than my mother's, but still very powerful." She said. Mal studied the hologram for a second. "This isn't good. Audrey's spell seems to be quite unbreakable." Mal said. Evie puts her hands on her hips. "What about true loves kiss?" She questioned. Mal shrugged. "I don't know. Audrey might've been smart for once and made the spell so true loves kiss can't break the spell." Mal explained. "I thought that wasn't possible," Jay said. "It's not impossible. I'm just wondering how Audrey is able to cast a spell like that." Mal said. Evie opened her mouth, about to say something, when Carlos started to twitch. Mal made the holograms disappear and stepped forward. "What's happening?" Jay questioned. "His body is fighting dark magic. His body can't handle it." Mal said.
