You were sitting in the drivers room, waiting for you boyfriend George Russell to comeback after his race. He didn't do well. The car had some trouble and he ended P20. It was the second race you ever saw. You worked really hard to be where you were right now and being in a relationship with an F1 driver wasn't helping with that. You had put a lot of time in your relationship, which was logic. A relationship takes time and effort, but you never thought it would be this much. It was hard when George was gone and when he was home, you were gone working. You got in contact with some other girlfriends from drivers and they were so different then you were. It was like you didn't belong in this world and that has gotten to the point where you are right now. Your work suffered because you were thinking about George a lot. You weren't happy with the way things were going and you knew there was nothing that you could do to change it, because this was how his life was. And your life just didn't fit in his. It broke your heart when you found that out, but you knew it was going to be the best for the both of you. So here you were, waiting for your boyfriend to tell him that you should go your own way.

You were nervous to say the least when the door opened. Normally you would walk up to him, hug him and tell him that everything was going to be and that he did his best. It took everything in you to not do it right now, because you still loved and you hated seeing him upset. But you had to stay strong.

'Do you have a moment to talk?' you asked.

George put down his helmet and looked concerned at you. 'Everything okay?'

'Yeah... actually no. We need to talk.'

'Okay... Tell me.'

You stood up from the couch. 'I love you George, I really do. But I have to go. I have to go my own way. Our lives don't fit together.'

George looked at you confused. 'I don't understand.'

'Your life is being and F1 driver. We tried so hard to make things work, but it just doesn't. My job needs all my focus and they can't have that right now. I have to do what's best for me and for you. George, I want you to do well in F1, but my job is also important to me and the combination is just not working.' You packed your bag from the couch.

'You're breaking up with me?'

'I'm sorry.' You opened the door and walked out, trying to hold the tears back.

'Wait! Y/N!' You heard him yell behind you.

You didn't turn around.

'Y/N! Stop! You can't just leave like this. What about everything we've been through? What am I supposed to do without you?'

You turned around when you got on the paddock. 'I don't fit in this world, George. I have to do this. I'll miss you.' The tears rolled down your cheek. The whole paddock was watching the two of you. You quickly wiped away your tears and ran away.

'Please stay!' You heard him yell.

As soon as you got around the corner, you broke down. You leaned against the wall and tried so hard to contain yourself, but the tears just kept coming.

'Y/N? Are you okay?'

You turned around and saw Lando looking at you with worry. 'I'm fine. Please, go to George. He really needs a friend right now,' you said while wiping away your tears.

'What happened?'

'I broke up with him. I have to go now. Just take care of him, just for a little while. Good luck, Lando,' you said and walked away.

'Y/N! Stop. You can't do this. He is madly in love with you. I have never seen him like this with a girl before. He lights up when you're around. He talked to me about proposing to you.'

You froze in your spot. He wanted to do what...? You didn't turn around when Lando continued talking.

'He had it all planned out. He wanted to do it later tonight, when you would go out to dinner. He loved you Y/N and I know you love him too. Whatever your reason was, you can fix it.'

You shook your head. 'It's too late now,' you said and walked away. You felt your phone buzzing in your pocket, but you didn't respond to it. You left it ringing and it went that way till you got to the hotel.

You quickly packed your stuff and left for the airport. When you got out of the hotelroom, you saw Alex and Max. They both looked at you. Max walked into his hotelroom, while Alex walked over to you.

'Are you sure?' he asked you.

'If I wasn't, it's too late now either way,' you mumbled. Alex has always felt like big brother to you, so it was hard to leave him behind too. It was hard leaving everyone behind, because you knew you would never see them again.

'We all want you to stay Y/N. You're a friend to all of us.'

'I know, but I don't fit in here Alex. All the girlfriends are different than me. I get so scared every time I see him stepping into his racing car, my heart can't take it. And my job, I worked so hard for it and now I finally got my dream job. But George is on my mind to much and I can't deal with that. Our relationship has always been hard. I make long hours and then when I come home, he isn't there. When I call, he doesn't pick up, because he already fell a sleep or he is going out with his friends and I don't blame it. But our relationship is just not working anymore. I have to do what's best for me. And I love him, I do and that's why this hurts so much, but it is better for the both of us.'

'I don't think so.' You froze when you heard his voice. Alex steppes aside and you see George standing in front of the elevator.

'I don't have another choice, George. It's for the best,' you say. You look at Alex one more time, before walking passed him to the elevator. George blocks your way.

'Please don't make this any harder,' you whisper to him.

'I'm not letting you go without a fight. I love you Y/N. You are my world and I'm not just letting you go, because you think your job is more important then us. I'm not saying you don't deserve it, but I've learned something over the past few years. Your job shouldn't come before your life. If you would die, they would replace you within a month. If you don't do your job right, they will kick you out and replace you as fast as they can. Your job isn't what your life should be about. Life should be about making memories, traveling the world, have fun, be yourself and love who you want to love. You said that you still love me, so please don't leave. I'm beginning you. Williams can offer you. You can travel with me and we can figure this out. We make memories together and live our lives. We can do this.'

You feel your heart breaking into little pieces. How can you turn him down? How can you say no to him, when you love him so much? But quietly, the world leave your mouth. 'I have to go.'

You quickly walk away from him to the stairs. You make your way down as fast as you can, while the tears stream down your face again. You hear him yelling your name, but you don't respond. You run out of the hotel as fast as you can and get in the first taxi you find. Just as you shut the door, George comes running out of the hotel. You look at him one more time, before turning your head and not looking back any more.
