Present Day.....

The four other members of the room looked at Thomas when he'd finally finished his story. It had taken him a long time to tell it all because he felt so uncomfortable with what he had done.

They all looked like they weren't sure what to say. After all, what were they supposed to say to a guy who had accidentally murdered a stripper and buried her to hide the evidence?

Were they supposed to threaten him?

Were they supposed to be glad they knew his secret?

Hector had a triumphant glint in his eyes. He was obviously thinking of how this new information could be used to his benefit.

Men like Hector knew how important it was to be able to have power over someone. It wasn't like Hector hadn't shed blood over the years but there had never been any evidence to tie him to those deaths.

The glint in his eyes faded slightly when he remembered that Thomas also knew he'd impregnated his wife's sister. He couldn't exactly talk without that getting out.

He doubted if the society would look kindly upon him for what he'd done. He'd lose some of his profitable businesses since the wives of his partners would consider what he had done distasteful and unforgivable.

Leila looked completely bored. She wasn't horrified by what Thomas had said. She didn't really have a conscience when it came to the death of other people especially if they were lowlifes like strippers and prostitutes who would have still gotten killed by someone else in their line of work.

As far as she was concerned, Thomas did the right thing by getting rid of the body and evidence. His only mistake was getting caught by someone else.

Beatrice was the only one looking at the pictures in the folder.

The pictures were of Thomas digging a grave and lowering a body into it with the aid of his friend, Bryce. It was obvious that they had been followed by someone who knew who they were but had kept quiet for years until they were sure the information would cause the most damage.

But how?

The person must have known who Thomas was. Why didn't they come forward with this information for so long?

She glanced at Ethan to see what his expression was. As expected, Ethan's face didn't portray anything.

"Are you sure you weren't followed that night Thomas?" Beatrice asked.

Thomas nodded miserably.

If she didn't know he was such an asshole she would have felt bad for him. He looked so distraught like a man who had struggled to get rid of past demons which kept resurfacing to attack him when his guard was down.

It was obvious he believed that secret was safe and was wondering how on earth anyone had been able to find out about it.

"It was the first time something like that ever happened to me. I was so paranoid that I kept checking the rearview mirror. There were other cars on the road but I'm sure I wasn't followed." He said tiredly.

Beatrice rubbed her sore eyes. She really wanted to sleep. She hadn't been awake for this long before.

"How can we guarantee this information would not be released by someone else?" Beatrice asked aloud.

She hadn't been expecting an answer but she got one.

"The only people who know about this are the truth seekers and the five of you. No one else knows about it." Seeker said.
