Moonlit Nightmare

"No, no please don't! You can't take him from me. Please. Please"

You jolt awake, breathing heavily and bury your face in your hands, letting warm tears slip from your eyes.

After a minute or 2 of crying you look over to see Cedric, the moon glinting ever so slightly on his brilliant features.

You try to sink back into the bed without waking him, but his eyes gently flutter open when you make the slightest move.

"Y/N, are you alright?"

"Just a nightmare"

"Would you like to talk about it?"

He sits up and pulls you into his side while leaning back into the headboard.

"It was about my brother, when they took him"

Cedric kisses your temple and rests his cheek on the top of your head while quietly humming.

"But I know it wasn't real and even though I may not know where my brother is still, he has been gone for a while. He did many terrible things, but he was still my brother. He was the sweetest person to me, and I loved him. I never knew exactly what he did that was so terrible. All I remember is when they took him. It was like they took a part of me"

"I understand Y/N. Always remember I'm here for you and if you ever want to find out more about your brother, I will help best I can"

You look up at him and kiss him softly.

"Thank you Cedric. I love you"

"I love you too. You look tired, go back to sleep and we can talk more in the morning"

You slide out of his arms and lie down, waiting for him to snuggle you.

He eventually wraps his arm around your waist and begins humming a soft melody as you slowly drift off to sleep.
