"I really hate this place." Sam said as we walked through the asylum to get to the kid's wing. "I know right, something about the fact that there's still wheelchairs and beds that were just left here as if everyone just kinda disappeared." I said and looked in each room as we passed it.

"Yeah, it's unsettling. I'm glad places like this don't really exist anymore." Sam said as I shrugged. "Yeah, they're not as bad anymore. They have their issues but they aren't as bad." I said, remembering how I was treated.

We were treated like children, which was a little degrading but we were never assaulted. The worst thing that would happen is that we would be drugged if we got too out of hand.

I remember one time I freaked out on a nurse because she tried to take my necklace, I ended up ripping out some of her hair which got me tranquilized. I felt really bad about doing it because I knew I wasn't exactly in the right headspace, but she didn't deserve that.

I ended up sending her flowers as soon as I was out because I still felt so bad. She forgave me and told me that people do bad things when they're hurting a lot, but they don't mean to.

"I wonder what it's like now." Sam said as we turned the corner, "it's not as bad, trust me." I said as he looked over, "have you had to stay in an asylum?" He asked as I nodded. "They call it a mental institution or hospital now, but yeah. After my parents died." I said as he frowned.

"I'm so sorry, Violet. I can't even imagine going through something like that." He said as I brought my hand to necklace again. "It's okay, it's shaped who I am as a person. I just wish I could properly say goodbye. Ya know? Like they went on a date but never came back to me. I never got the proper closure." I said as he nodded and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, giving me a friendly hug.

"That's why you want to do the Ouija board so badly." He said as I nodded, "yeah, that's why." I said as he chuckled, "well good thing you have us to do that with. I hope we get to talk to them." He said as I smiled.

"I know we're filming it for the video but if they come through..um...can we not record it?" I asked as he nodded. "Of course. I know you don't really want your personal shit on the internet." He said then nudged my shoulder.

Just then I heard Daisy shriek behind me, causing my heart to jump out of my chest. I turned around to see her hiding in Colby's side as a little red ball came bouncing out of one of the rooms.

"Oh my god..Lilly?" I called out as Sam started to record. "Did you want to play?" I asked and picked up the ball, looking up at Colby. "Throw the ball, Vi." He said as I nodded and tossed it back. "We can play, just toss the ball back." I said then sat on the ground.

"Violet, don't play with it!" Daisy said as I shook my head. "Shhh, it's fine." I said then looked towards the empty room that I had thrown the ball into.

"Don't be shy Lilly, we don't want to hurt you. We just want to play." I said as the ball came bouncing back. "Thank you." I said then looked up at Colby. "Let's do an EVP session." I whispered then looked forwards again.

Colby slightly pushed Daisy off of him so he could grab the recording device. "Keep playing with me Lilly." I said and tossed the ball back.

As soon as Colby started recording I started asking questions. "How old are you?" I asked as the ball came bouncing back. "Are you lonely?" I asked and tossed the ball back into the room. "Are you really a little girl?" I asked after a second then heard a loud pop come from the room.

"What the hell?" I asked and got up, then went to go into the room, "Vi, wait!" Colby said as he took my wrist, pulling me back. "What?" I asked as he scratched the back of his head.

"Don't go alone." He said then started walking again, making sure I was behind him. "Violet, move." Daisy said and pushed me back so she could be next to Colby. I rolled my eyes slightly then turned around, thinking I was going to be facing Sam, but he apparently had already walked into the room, leaving me to be the last one to go in.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as something darted down the hall. "Hello?" I called out and shined my flashlight down the hallway, hoping I would see something.

"Help us." A little girl's voice said in my ear causing me to freeze. I looked down the hallway again only to see a tall black shadow, standing in the middle of the hallway.

A chill ran down my spine as goosebumps riddled my skin. "Vi? VI!" Colby called out as I turned back towards the room. "What's wrong?" I asked as he let out a breath, "stop going off by yourself! You're going to give me a heart attack." He said as I laughed. "I didn't go off by myself, I just got distracted. I'm coming in." I said then walked into the room.

On the ground there was the red ball but it looked like it was popped. "Woah...how did that happen?" I asked as Sam handed me the ball. "We have no idea...theres literally nothing on the ground that could have popped it." He said as I reached for the recording device.

"Did you listen to this?" I asked as Colby shook his head. Daisy was clinging onto him like a leech which I thought was funny, but also annoying.

"Let's listen then." I said then started playing it. You could hear my voice clear as day for the first few questions, there weren't any answers to my questions, until I asked if she was really a little girl.

There was a deep raspy voice that said "get out." Which caused a chill to run down my spine. "What the fuck?" I asked and replayed that part. I listened closely, bringing the recording device to my ear. When I heard it again there was another noise, it sounded like a little girl screaming for help. I gasped then looked up at Colby then Sam.

"We have to go." I said then dropped the deflated ball and turned to leave the room quickly.

"Violet, wait!" Sam called out as I snatched the Ouija board off of the ground and made my way down the hallway. "Vi!!" Colby yelled as Daisy cried, "Violet, stop!!" She yelled as I turned around. "Come on!" I yelled then started to walk faster.

"What did you hear?!" Sam said as I ignored him and booked it out of the building. "Something is in there. Something dark." I said as my eyes watered. "What happened?!" Daisy exclaimed as they all ran up to me.

"S-something is in there. It's not s-safe." I said and pointed shakily to the building. "Hey, it's okay." Colby said then wrapped his arms around me. I melted into him for a second, immediately feeling safe.

We were a secret though.

"No. Stop." I said and pushed him away. "Did you not hear what we caught?" I asked and looked at all three of them. "No....it sounded like a normal recording to me." Sam said as Colby looked at me sadly.

"Listen to it again. Closely." I said then tossed the recording device to Colby, then sat on the grass.

"Holy shit." Sam said as I nodded. "We need to try and contact it." I said and pulled the Ouija board out of its box.

"Woah, hold on a minute. That doesn't sound safe." Colby said as I shook my head. "It's not....I just...we have to help them. We have to help those trapped spirits." I said feeling emotional all of the sudden.

My heart ached for all of the lost souls that were trapped in this building. It made me wonder if my parents were trapped somewhere.

I didn't realize I was crying until Daisy was holding me. "We have to help them." I whispered into her shoulder as she rubbed my back. "Okay...just relax..you're okay." She cooed as I looked up at Colby with watery eyes.

He nodded, "we're gonna help them." He said quietly as Sam nodded also. "We will. Don't worry." He said the grabbed the Ouija board.

"Let's go then." I said with a sniffle then pulled away from Daisy. I didn't expect to have that kind of reaction.

I just felt this intense need to help the trapped spirits.
