Locked in a room

Maya huffed in annoyance as she continued to jiggle the doorknob to try and get out of the closet that she and Josh had stupidly locked themselves in.

"Forget it, its not going to work. We're just going to have to wait until someone comes and gets us." He told her. Maya sighed as she turned around to face him.

"Josh, we're in a supply closet on the bottom floor of our dormitory. Who is going to come get us?" Maya asked him as she put her hands on her hips and stared at him. Josh shrugged his shoulders at her.

"The janitor?" He said as most of a question, earning him a glare from the blond in front of him.

"Hey Maya," Maya started in a mock tone of Josh's voice. "Let's go make out in the supply closet downstairs, nobody will find us there." She glared at her boyfriend. Josh scoffed.

"Okay, first of all, I dont sound like that. And secondly, you weren't exactly complaining when you practically pushed me in here." Josh stated.

"Do you realize we could be here until morning?" Maya asked him. Josh rolled his eyes.

"Would you relax." Josh told her. "Look, it's not even eight yet, someone will come later tonight to put some of the cleaning supplies up before curfew. So we should be out of here around ten." Josh told her. Maya sighed as she grabbed her phone and looked at the screen. She still didnt have any service, and Josh had left his phone in his dorm room.

"Great, Huckleberry is never going to let me live this down." Maya groaned as she leaned her back against the door and groaned. Josh gave her a look. Maya sighed. "I caught him and Riley just last week in mine and Riley's dorm room. I teased them relentlessly, and now he's going to be like a kid on Christmas morning." Maya explained. Josh had an amused smirk on his face as he stared at her.

"Well, it's not like they have to know." Josh told her. "Oh come on, Maya. What's the worst that can happen?" He asked her. "We get caught by someone coming to lock up for the night, they yell at us for a few minutes, and then we get to leave and come up with an excuse to Riley and Lucas of where we've been the last few hours." Josh told her. Maya scoffed.

"Oh yeah, and what makes you think we're just going to get a slap on the wrist?" She asked him. "We could get in a lot of trouble for this, Josh." Maya told him. Josh shook his head.

"Maya, a lot of couples in college sneak away and make out in places. It's expected by a lot of the staff here at NYU. That's why they dont do very much. They give a lecture and hope that the embarrassment of being caught would be enough to make you not want to do it again." Josh told her. Maya looked up at him suspiciously.

"And how would you know so much about what they do?" She asked him. Josh rolled his eyes at her, still keeping the amused smile.

"Because I have friends that do this sort of thing all the time, Maya" He told her. Maya huffed as she turned around and looked back at the door, jiggling the knob one more time for good measures before sighing and leaning her forehead against the door.

"Why did this have to happen to us." She groaned. Josh walked over to where she was standing and put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed it. Maya turned around and leaned into his chest, wrapping her arms around his torso and burring her face in his neck. Josh chuckled at her as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in close.

"It's alright." He couldn't hide the amusement in his voice as a slight grin made his way up onto his face. "You know, I'm shocked that you're  taking this so hard. It's not like you to be worried about getting in trouble." He told her. Maya sighed into his neck as she wrapped her arms tighter around Josh's form.

"I know, its just that college is different than high school. Its more intimidating." She told him. "Plus, I really dont want to see that smug look come across Lucas's face." Maya whined. Josh laughed as he leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

"Well, if they're going to talk. We can at least give them something to talk about." Josh said Mischievously. There was silence for a moment, before Maya pushed Josh back and glared at him.

"Is that all you can really think about right now?" She asked him as her hands go back on her hips and she gave him a glare. Josh smirked.

"Oh absolutely." He stated, not even trying to hide it. "Especially when you look like that." He winked at her.

A blush crept onto her face without her permission, which seemed to make her even more angry. She groaned and Josh still kept the amused smirk on his face.

"You know what that look does to me, Maya." Josh said as he winked at her again.

"Oh shut it!" Maya snapped at him. Josh laughed as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, smiling at her as he watched her run her hands through her hair.

"You know, sitting here and complaining isn't going to make the time go by faster. And it would be such a shame to not do what we came in here to do in the first place." He tried to reason with her. Maya kept glaring at him, she wasn't amused in the slightest. "You know I love you." He added. She couldn't help but melt a little.

Anytime she heard Josh say that he loved her, Maya couldn't help but melt just a bit. She had spent almost all of her teenage years hoping that she would hear those words come from his lips, and now that she had, it was almost like she couldn't get enough of it.

"I love you, too." She relented. Josh smiled as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into him, staring at her for a moment before lowering his lips and planting them on hers. Maya grinned as she leaned further into him, tilting her head to the side and kissing him deeper.

Maya was still very much on edge, but she couldn't help but let her body react the way it was towards Josh as his hand slipped into her hair and he pulled her even closer, neither one of them hearing the door open until the loud clear of a throat broke them apart.

"Ew." Riley commented as she looked between the two, Lucas smirking behind her. Josh pursed his lips together to keep from laughing as Maya huffed and glared at Josh, before looking back at Riley and Lucas.

"Well, well, well." Lucas sang as he crossed his arms over his chest with that smug look that made Maya grit her teeth.

"Well at least you dont have to worry about getting in trouble anymore." Josh said behind her.

Maya glared at her boyfriend before turning her attention back to her best friends. She wasn't sure who to be mad at more, but she knew one thing, she hated supply closets...
