It was very late but Iris West was far from being sleepy. I glanced at the laptop on the desk beside me. Don't even think about it Iris just go to sleep. I thought. After a few minutes of tossing and turning, I finally got up to get my laptop. I clicked furiously at my keyboard. The sound of my fingernails tapping at the keyboard, and Barry's soft snores were the only sound in the room. It was pleasing actually and quite comforting. A few moments later, I felt Barry turn as he peers at me through half-opened eyes.

"What's going on Iris?" He asked slowly. Still trying to shake the sleepiness off.

"Nothing babe. Sorry, go back to sleep. I was just finishing up my article for my blog." I said, still typing, not looking away from the screen.

"Couldn't you do it in the morning?" Barry shifted in the bed as he turned to turn on the lamp.

"I was going to do it tomorrow but I remembered that we have to go check out the venues for our wedding. Tomorrow's a busy day. I won't have time."

"Hmm." Said Barry as he sat up and stared at me. He kissed my cheek. "Are you sure that's the only reason? I know you, Iris, this is stress typing."

I sighed and finally closed my laptop, turning to look at him. "It's just nerves I guess. Don't get me, the wrong babe, I want to marry you more than anything. I'm just nervous and a little stressed about the whole process."

"Well," he slowly reached for my laptop on my lap and put it on the dresser. "I can speed up the process for you if you want."

Iris looked at me and smiled. "Really? That would be great."

"Yeah just sit and relax, I will handle it okay? You don't have to worry." I kissed her and I could feel her smile against me.

"You're amazing, you know that? I'm still coming with you tomorrow though for the venue."

"Of course," Barry replied absentmindedly, still covering her with kisses on the neck.

"Babe you can go back to sleep now. Sorry, I woke you up. You need your rest." I said trying to keep my voice normal. "You know you've been a little clingier than usual these past days."

"I can't help it," he said between kisses. "I love you."

I closed my eyes and breathed slowly in and out. "I love you too and I know you love me but this is more than that isn't it?" I asked.

He finally looked up to meet my gaze. He heaved a sigh. "After everything that happened with Savitar-I almost lost you, Iris. That moment when he ran that metal shard through your back-" He closed his eyes for a brief second before opening them. "I thought I lost you forever. I can't get that picture out of my head."

I put a hand on his cheek as he clutched it. "But you didn't Barry. I'm still here."

He kissed her hand. "I'm going to sound like a horrible person saying this but-" he ran a hand through his hair shakily. "When it turns out it was H.R. who died in your place, for a brief moment there I felt relief. Just for a brief moment Iris, the future flashed before my eyes when I thought I lost you. I can see how Savitar was created in the first place. He's all the dark parts of me combined."

For what seemed like forever none of them said anything. I was still trying to process and swallow everything Barry just said. There were so many ways I could respond to what he just said. Instead, I opened my mouth and quickly closed it like a fish.

Barry looked at me apprehensively with those round eyes and I felt so much love for him. I leaned forward and kissed him. "Barry listens to me, you're not a horrible person okay? There is nothing bad about you. There may be some darkness in you but that's understandable. You suffered the loss of both parents. You went through way more pain than an average person does in a lifetime. No one should have to go through that."

Barry finally cracked a smile. "You're amazing you know that?"

I returned the smile. "And don't worry about Savitar. We helped him and we'll keep helping him. I still believe he can change. As you said, he has created from the worst, dark parts of you. But he also has some light in him from you Barry. Did you say it yourself to him remember? When you told him underneath all the scars and the pain, there's still a part of you that's in him."

I took a deep breath. "It's going to be a long shot but we can't give up on him. We promised him. He just needs to be steered to the right path, with guidance and the right people."

After she said her little speech, there was silence. Comfortable silence.

Barry finally spoke. "He needs to go at some point though Iris. You know he can't stay here. There can't be two Barrys."

I ran a hand through my hair, copying the exact movement Barry did earlier. "Let's figure that part out later. We can figure it out after we talk to him. He has to agree to it too."

Barry just sat there looking at her with warm eyes. "What would I do without you?" He whispered.

I giggled and pulled him on top of me, as I lie back down on the bed. "Now where were we?"

"I thought you said I needed my rest?" He asked innocently with a glint in his eyes and a little smirk.

"Well, I changed my mind. Unless you do want to sleep?" I asked with arched eyebrows. "We do have to get up early tomorrow."

He grinned and leaned down to kiss me. "I don't feel like sleeping anymore, I feel more awake than ever."
