It was quite clear that the school year was coming to an end. Indolent fifth years spent hours on end studying for their O.W.L.S. exams after having not looked in a textbook since the start of the year, whilst seventh years looked like they couldn't care less at that point what grade they got. It was bright and sunny out, leaving many students to take a well-needed break — the Marauders included.

"Did you like question ten, Moony?" Aurelia heard Sirius ask. She caught up with them, and the five were soon walking side-by-side. Aurelia felt relieved that the two were talking again — for the past few days not a word were uttered between the two, but after much begging on James, Peter, and Aurelia's part, he was quick to forgive Sirius. Remus was really bad at holding grudges.

"Loved it. 'Give signs that identify the werewolf.' Excellent question," Remus said promptly.

"D'you think you managed to get all the signs?" said James in tones of mock concern.

"Think I did. One: He's sitting on my chair. Two: He's wearing my clothes. Three: His name's Remus Lupin...."

They all began laughing, except Peter, who looked to be racking his brains. "I got the snout shape, the pupils of the eyes, and the tufted tail," he said anxiously, "but I couldn't think what else —"

"How thick are you, Wormtail?" said James impatiently. "You run round with a werewolf once a month —"

"Don't be rude!" Aurelia said, at the same time as Remus said, "keep your voice down."

Aurelia turned around, just then noticing Snape. She felt a bubbling feeling of anger rise in the pit of her stomach. Luckily he went in the opposite direction, allowing all five of them to release their bated breath.

"Well, I thought that paper was a piece of cake," Sirius said casually. "I'll be surprised if I don't get Outstanding on it at least."

"Me too," said James. He put his hand in his pocket and took out a struggling Golden Snitch.

"Where'd you get that?" Aurelia asked curiously, watching as he let the Snitch go and briskly caught it.

"Nicked it," said James casually as Peter watched James in awe.

They all stopped at the beech tree by the Black Lake. Remus began pulling out a book, whilst Sirius stared around at the students milling out of the Great Hall. Peter continued watching James' quidditch abilities, gasping and applauding whenever James caught the Snitch.

"Put that away," Aurelia said finally, "you look ridiculous."

"Ridiculous," Aurelia heard Remus mutter absently.

James scoffed. "Sorry quidditch isn't your forte."

"I have ninety-nine problems and a snitch ain't one," Aurelia said, flicking a piece of grass off her.

"If it bothers you," James said, grinning.

"I'm bored," Sirius said suddenly. "Wish it was full moon."

"After what happened?" Aurelia asked in disbelief.

Remus rolled his eyes at Sirius' behavior. "We've still got Transfiguration, if you're bored you could test me.... Here."

He held out his book to Sirius, causing the latter of the two to let out a derisive snort. "I don't need to look at that rubbish, I know it all."

"This'll liven you up, Padfoot," said James quietly. "Look who it is...."

Aurelia turned her head, whilst Sirius had become very still, like a dog that has scented a rabbit. Aurelia snickered at the thought.

"Excellent," he said softly. "Snivellus."
