"I'm so sorry, Rachel." I said as I sat in front of her in her office. "You're sorry for being respectful and putting your two weeks notice in?" Rachel asked with a laugh as I sighed. "No, I'm sorry I'm leaving you..I really love this job but my heart is telling me to go to LA." I said as she smiled.

"I support that decision, Violet. I love having you here and you're a great employee, but I haven't seen you this happy...well...since I met you." She said as I nodded.

"It's been a while since I've been this happy honestly." I said and smiled as I thought about the past couple days with Colby. He really was a light in my life right now.

I didn't really know how things were going to go with him, but he made me feel safe. I knew that even if we weren't together when I moved to LA, he would keep me safe and wouldn't let me fail.

That's why I felt comfortable doing it.

"Happiness looks good on you, your last day will be two weeks from today, but you're always welcome to come back if things don't work out in LA." Rachel said as I smiled. "Thank you." I said then got up so I could go back to work.

The rest of the work day went by quickly, since it was a busy day at the ER. I was really going to miss the rush it gave me to be working in the ER, but maybe I could find a similar job in LA.

I was moving in two weeks so I had to really get my ass in gear and find a job there, even though Colby said I wouldn't have to worry about rent since they owned the house.

My parents taught me better than that though so I would of course be paying rent. It wasn't up for debate.

When I got outside, Colby was waiting for me, leaning against his rental car. We had a lot to do today, so he had to pick me up directly from work.

"Hey baby." He said and kissed my cheek as I walked up. "Hey, what did you do today?" I asked as he opened my car door for me. "I ordered your bedroom furniture, it's gonna be delivered to the house within the next couple days." He said as I frowned.

"How much was it? I'll pay you back." I said as he got in the car. "Seriously don't worry about it, V. Consider it a moving present." He said as I bit my lip.

"Letting me live with you is a moving present. Now how much was it?" I asked as he turned the radio up, then grabbed my hand as we drove to Lowe's.

I rolled my eyes then looked out the window at the snowy scenery, taking it in, since I knew in two weeks I wouldn't be seeing snow for a very long time.

When we pulled into the parking lot I smiled at the little Christmas tree shop that they had set up out front. I forgot that Christmas was even a thing this year because of all the bullshit I had been through lately.

We would actually be getting to LA on Christmas Eve, which was crazy. "I wish I could get a Christmas tree this year." I said quietly as we got out of the car.

"I would say we could but lugging that across the country probably wouldn't work out." He said as I nodded and took his hand. "We would lose it so fast." I said with a laugh as we walked into the store.

We had to get moving boxes and white paint, since Daisy ruined my walls by drawing on them with sharpie.

"Do you have brushes and tape?" Colby asked as we walked through the aisles. "Nope, we need paint, primer, brushes, tape, and a tarp so we don't ruin the floors." I said and grabbed a basket to put the stuff in.

"I think we need this, too." Colby said and held up a snickers bar. "No. We need two, dummy." I said and grabbed another one as he laughed and put them in the basket.
