How it all started... But in High School

Piper is Happy, I Can't Relate

Today was the day. Piper was leaving. We were all at the airport waiting for her flight to come. Percy couldn’t be there, he got detention for pouring water all over Jason’s head. He did say his goodbye early though. 

    We all took turns hugging Piper, giving her gifts, and saying our goodbyes. Percy gave her a small bag of Sally’s blue cookies during the last period, Hazel gave her a small rubber keychain decoration with the design of a decorative knife, and Frank gave her a small stuffed dragon. Leo made her a tofu taco and gave her a framed picture of everyone. He built the frame so that whenever Piper pressed the button on the top, a video played of one of the fun things they did. A different video played every time. 

    Calypso gave Piper a black bomber jacket with everyone’s names written on the inside with our handwriting. It was black and red and had Piper’s name stitched on the front. She had made it herself. Jason hadn’t come yet and the flight would be called any minute. 

    Finally when Piper lost hope of Jason ever going, he ran up to everyone waving a paper. He had a backpack on and a small suitcase. He looked ecstatic. 

    “Piper! I need to tell you this right now.” Piper looked at him with wide eyes, “Listen Piper I love you so much and I can’t believe I didn’t realize this sooner.” He said out of breath from running. 

    “Piper I love you. I do, I love you. And I can’t imagine how it would be if I didn’t tell you this sooner. I don’t want to stop you from following your dreams. I want to be with you, by your side, when they come true and while it’s happening.” Piper started crying happy tears with a huge grin. 

    “Please Piper. Say something. I hope you want me there too cause I already bought the ticket.” He said letting out a chuckle. Piper laughed and kissed him. It lasted a few seconds and everyone was cheering for them. Hazel had been recording the entire time. 

    “Oh gods Jason” Piper said with a breathy laugh, “It was about time” She finished with a huge grin. Jason picked her up and spun her. “I love you too Sparky”. 

    A second after that their flight was called and they had to board the plane. We all said our goodbyes to Jason and Piper. They walked to board the plane hand in hand and everyone waited till the plane was in the air to leave. 

    I had called a taxi to drive me back to Ogygia High so I could surprise Percy. I got there just as the few kids in detention started leaving. I walked in the entrance to find Percy. 

    I walked in and immediately spotted Percy. He was standing by the corner. Just as I spotted him, I saw the girl next to him smile and kiss him. He pulled away and stared at me with wide eyes. My heart dropped.
