TW: scary (?) and descriptive

I don't really know if it should be a trigger because I probably didn't really do a great job with describing it lol
There is a possibility of being uncomfortable thinking of what it looks like tho

I'm Irish so let's do the banshee

If you don't know what a banshee is, its a female spirit in Irish folklore who heralds the death of a family member, usually by wailing, shrieking, or keening. (Said by google)

I kinda put a flip to it like- instead of it warning you of the death, it's kinda like bad luck and makes something fatal happen to them.

WELP INTO THE STORY-

*3RD POV*

There were 3 times Peter heard the Banshee in his life.

The first time was the worst fear he had ever endured.

He was 5 years old, awoken by a piercing screaming. A loud, shrill cry that shook the floor. It was so high and thunderous, he felt like his ears were going to bleed. Without knowing what else to do, the boy cried for his parents.

It felt like hours before they came barging into his room. He had just laid there covering his ears, curled up in his covers, wishing it would go away. Why wouldn't it go away? Where were his parents? Why didn't they hear it too?

The second Mary and Richard sluggishly opened the door, it went silent. His ears still rang but other than that, nothing dared to make a sound.

"Peter honey, we've got a flight to get ready for in a few hours and you've got to go to Aunt May and Uncle Ben's... what's going on?" Mary asked. "He probably had a nightmare. But we're all good now, aren't we Pete?" He wanted to answer no but all Peter could do was cry. They really didn't hear it? How? How could anyone not hear it?

His parents were reported dead from a plane crash the next day.

But it was fine, Peter... he didn't really remember them... he had decided years later that the screaming... the... whatever it was, was just a dream- well, a nightmare.

He was too young.

The next time he heard it, he was 13.

He'd just recently become spider-man too. He would sneak out sometimes to figure out his abilities and such because maybe he could be like the avengers one day!

The memory was brought back to him in a wave of emotions. He had just been walking back from Ned's house and he panicked. He ran home to see both aunt May and uncle Ben ok.

They were fine.

But he wasn't. His ears hurt, his heart hammered in his chest, he couldn't breathe-

"Peter? Honey what's wrong?" "Kiddo did something happen at Ned's?"

Peter just leaned into their embrace and cried.
