Spellbound

The diamonds in your eyes are as clear as my judgment;
Something magical; ethereal damn near perfect.
I've been hiding out in the hopes of finding someone like you;
Someone with knowledge; someone who knows what to do;
With a kid like me who writes way too much poetry;
A kid enamoured by careless wandering.
Glance my way and I know I'll make you proud;
With you I am enchanted; I am spellbound.

I was never one to believe in the supernatural;
The occult was never something I was compatible with.
But, when I met you, nights bled into days;
Gone were each and every one of my pains.
I was never one to believe in magic;
But you reimagined this something tragic.
And I want to thank you for that;
Thank you for hypnotising me;
Just as I did you with my poetry.
I hope I have made you proud;
For, when you are around I find myself spellbound.

I haven't written romantic poetry about somebody else in about six months;
I was too caught up in loss to even think about love.
I'd write a sonnet from here, passed the moon and through the stars for you;
I am a lovesick fool.
I wonder are you a witch and a warlock entangled in one;
A magical entity; who's healed my heart undone.
For when you are around I find myself spellbound.

As the stars in the solar system fade to black;
Like a movie before reality snaps back.
I want to lose myself in you;
A fictitious tale turned true.
A dream in daylight;
An escape in beautiful chaos.
I see magic in your eyes;
Spellbound by your stars.
