Xander

I watch through my wolf's eyes as Quinn's midnight black wolf tears the cabin apart. The furniture has been ripped to shreds and thrown across the room. When he suddenly comes to a halt, he is foaming at the mouth and his chest is heaving with every ragged breath.

My light brown wolf sits back on his hind legs and lets Quinn rip the world apart around him in his anger and grief. My wolf and I are angry and hurt and devastated that Carter had given herself to that Lycan, but we knew that we needed to keep our head if we were going to bring Carter home to us.

Are you done now? I mind-link him.

I watch as strings of saliva drip from his bared teeth while his breathing regulated slowly.

We need to search for her, Quinn, and we need to bring her back. Reign in control of your wolf and let's figure out where that Lycan took our woman.

It's times like this I am grateful for the calm control I have over my wolf. I'm able to think logically while Quinn lets his base instincts and his wolf's aggression rule him.

Quinn's wolf huffs in agreement and we both turn and look around the remaining ruins of the cabin for any sign of Carter or where she could have gone.

Her scent is everywhere, my stomach rolling uncomfortably with the thoughts of her fucking someone else. I've dreamt of the day where she would be mine for years. My lips on hers, my body between her legs, my name she cries out. The fact that she fled my bed this morning and into someone else's, guts the fuck out of me.

I can feel that I'm beginning to lose hope of finding any type of hint as to where she could have gone, when Quinn's voice echoes through my head.

Her fear, Xander. Focus on the scent of her fear. Her scent itself is everywhere and the arousal is overpowering. Ignore it, brother. We need to follow the scent of her fear to find her.

Fucking idiot. Of course! My wolf lifts his snout and begins searching for that horrible, tangy, metallic scent that makes my stomach churn. I follow the trail out the front door and to the gravel driveway where her essence just disappears.

I turn to look at Quinn. I've lost it. Her scent is just gone. He had to have taken her in a vehicle. We need to go back to the pack house and regroup and strategize if we are going to have any chance of finding her.

Quinn's wolf nods his head and I hear his reply instantly. Okay. We need our beta's. We need to get Liam and Cole in on this.

We arrive back at the pack house and shift back before heading inside into the large room that is used as the Alpha's office and wait for our betas to get here.

When we were close enough to the border lines between both of our packs, I mind linked my Beta, Cole White, to tell him to meet at the Silver Moon pack house as soon as possible. I knew Quinn was linking with his Beta, Liam Scott, as well.

Besides Quinn, Cole has been my best friend and confidante since birth. He is my second in command and if anything is to happen with my pack while I am away, he is the only person I would trust to deal with it effectively. The four of us had been raised, and trained, to deal with situations together.

Mine and Quinn's mothers have been best friends since childhood. Along with another woman named Leah, who was Chantal's mother. Our mothers and fathers came to an agreement when we were pups to have an arranged mating between myself, Quinn, and Chantal.
