Mondstat was the proclaimed 'City of Freedom', however it was hard to say the line with confidence whenever it came to [name].

She had probably thought too much whilst praying at the head of the cathedral that afternoon however.

She simply forgot that there was no home that truly sheltered complete acceptance into this world. Mondstat may live in its ideals, but not all will manage to truly live that to its name.

Ms. Rosa, the tutor, was in the middle of religious teaching lessons going on about the importance of sin and forgiveness with all who was present, [name] included as a student, of course.

She talked diligently clearly invested in the topic much more than anyone else, so much so that she didn't even notice some of the disinterested faces from the younger ones around her. "一All will sin, but remember that with duty and reason, Barbatos will answer your prayer in forgiveness. Any questions or furthermore thoughts?"

A hand rose from one of the students, being called on by her shortly afterwards. "How often do you pray?"

Ms. Rosa smiled widely. "Three times a day, every morning, noon and night."

Another hand rose, this time from a certain [hair color] haired female.

"Excuse me, I want to add my thought on this."

"Yes, [name]?"

The tutor's smile was filled happy anticipation and the bored looks around them both hadn't sufficed... Until the atmosphere was torn apart by what she said next.

"I... Disagree with this statement."

Nearly everyone knew how religious Ms. Rosa was, so to hear a voice of disagreement in the crowd made her blood run cold and the room tense.

"How so?" The tone of excitement quickly dispersed into a flat one.

[name] frowned. "It's an unfair belief."

"Unfair? What would even be remotely unfair about this?" Ms. Rosa cocked a brow at her clearly riled up already. "Let's think of a scenario in this case: Say there was a reasoning for saving the world or saving a life, of course whatever you do will be held for good cause, so why would your sins not be forgiven."

"Just only because you've done a good deed does not excuse or validate your forgiveness for the hurt you've done to another." [name] immediately blurted out. "If you killed a life to save someone else's life or hundreds of others, no matter how many other lives that is, why are you allowed to be easily forgiven for this?"

"Then say that person you killed sinned and did something really bad their self一 "

"It's still unethical. Who gave you the right to judge if someone gets to be killed off for what they sinned over? One death can cause wars or more massive bloodshed, so why is it considered okay? Why is it okay to be forgiven over so easily一in what utter right would you have to judge?"

Speechless, from person to person, even those uninvolved in the session were shocked. Ms. Rosa's face quickly flared up in a crimson color of anger and embarrassment. "[name] Aviatora, you are being absolutely preposterous! See me after this class session."

That exact late evening she stood outside of the cathedral in front of the yelling tutor who scolded her for nearly an hour straight, and it would have been longer if she wasn't prepping for her next class session with a different group of students.

"... Do you understand." Instead of a question, it sounded closer to a demand.

"Yes, ma'am..."

"What do you think your mother will think of seeing your own teacher scold you like this? It's unacceptable behavior of you."
