He wasn't here either.

She had waited for days for Kaeya to appear, but it seemed helplessly impossible considering the fact that he hadn't appeared or popped up right in front of her days before, since that one night.

[name]'s attention was brought back to the person in front of her hearing her go on一

"You want to cut your hair?" The maid attending to [name] as she did every night asked her. "Why all of a sudden, madam?"

Every time she heard a maid, the butler, or just someone in this household call her such a title, [name] felt a feeling of uncertainty in her stomach for how to take such to her own poverty-stricken heart. 'Please just stop calling me that.' She begged helplessly in her head.

"I'll be sure to address it to Master Diluc first thing tomorrow morning."

"Um... That would kindly be appreciated. Thank you."

"Certainly." The maid, seeming to remember something right on that spot stepped up closer to her. "Oh! But, madam!"

[name] shuddered as soon as she heard it again. "Y- yes..?"

"Master Diluc would like to hear of your preference for tomorrow's bath: would you like bathing in silk flower petals or cecelia flowers?"

[name] blushed. "Is he trying to say he's joining me?"

The maid found herself blushing a little as well. "I... I believe he doesn't intend to..?"

What does that mean!?一

"But, we haven't seen a child in a long time. Another young master running around would be very..."

Don't even try imaging it!

"Silk flowers petals!" She squeaked in embarrassment. "Tonight is cold and all, so please go to your room early. Thank you for being here, you're excused. I can handle laying down by myself!"

The maid blinked at her, nodding her head, curtseying. "Y- yes, madam... Good night, I suppose."

The door shut closed after the maid exited the room leaving [name] to sit there by herself. Her body fell backwards, her back hitting the sheets of the comfortable bed awaiting for her to sleep. Although all she really saw was the dim light illuminating from the lit lantern on her nightstand, it was enough to transverse her thoughts.

A dim light flickering for someone to notice it, wavering in the darkness of a silent night. A small, barely noticeable light from deep within her, wishing to whisper it's feelings into the open world. A lonely light that could barely withstand this temporary decadence, birth only because of an injury一one testing time's patience waiting to see if it could heal over the course of a few months, and the other, a deep burn in her heart that had pained her more than she thought a couple days without seeing him could actually be put through.

'Where are you..?' A line that waited and waited. Stopped... Then waited some more.

Peered over a closed window where the cold wind howled over a thin glass wall. Laid in bed lost in a dark dream that kept her awake, and a deeper dream if she were to enter it to keep her from calming in her sleep.

Waited, and waited. That hour turned into two, two to three, three to midnight's hour of the night, until:

Creak..!

"You sleep so soundly don't you, little missy."

Him... He was here...

Kaeya gently sank himself onto the corner of her bed like he had that one night. His played with the edge of her hair, twiddling it between his thumbs.
