"Where exactly are we going?"

Nick sighed, "You said you wanted to remember, so I'm taking you to the places we've been."

I nodded and looked out the window.

Scenery passed by me, but nothing seemed familiar. I grew up in this town, yet I couldn't remember anything.

I sighed.

"You do that a lot."

I looked at Nick confused, "What?"

"Sigh. I get it that you're kind of upset, and I'm the one to blame for that. However, it could've been worse, Brin."

I looked at him again. Really looked at him.

His muscular arms were straight out in front of him, holding on to the wheel. His profile provided me of a strong nose, long lashes, and a clenched ja-

"Stop," he suddenly said.

Crap. I've been caught checking him out.

"I-I'm sorry," I quietly said.

He sighed, "I didn't mean it like that. I-I just don't want an accident to happen again. You distract me."

My heart skipped a beat. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

The rest of the car ride was spent in silence. The only thing that could be heard was the soft sound of the stereo.

Something or someone was shaking me.

"Brin, wake up."

I groggily opened my eyes.

I feel like this has happened before. I reached for my seatbelt and suddenly there was a sharp pain in my head.

There was something, or someone, poking me.

"Wake up. Brinley, wake up, or I will drive off with you in the car," an angry voice said.

I groggily opened my eyes and looked around me. Oh, I fell asleep. Again. I immediately jumped down and entered the car and faced an angry Nick.

I clutched my aching head, and groaned.

"Brinley! Brin, are you okay?"

I took deep breaths and slowly nodded.

"I just remembered something, that's all."

He looked happy, "That's great! What'd you remember?"

"I fell asleep on the car, and you told me to get up before you drove off with me on top," I said and chuckled.

He looked sheepish, "Yeah, sorry about that. I wasn't actually going to do it."

I patted his arm, "It's alright."

He nodded and grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the car.

I looked around and noticed that we were at an airport.

I squeezed his hand, "What are we doing here?"

He looked at me and smiled reassuringly, "Did you know that this is where we first met?"

Looking at him strangely, I asked, "Met? Here? We met at an airport?"

He chuckled, "Yeah, we were only 8 years old. You clutched a brown teddy bear to your chest, and you were dragging a very pink suitcase. Even back then you were short."

He was staring into the entrance of the airport. He was probably remembering that day.

I felt sad. Even though we stood there where we first met, I remembered nothing. Nothing came to me at all, and I felt overwhelmed. None of these places or faces were familiar.

He suddenly pulled me back to the car and started it without saying a word.

 ~

"Listen, Dad and Diane are going out of town. I doubt you paid any attention to the note on the fridge. So I'm just here to tell you that. And also to keep your mouth shut about whatever happens while they're gone."

I groaned.

I was laying on the couch when a memory came back to me. I couldn't believe it. Was that really Nick?

He was so different from this afternoon. So cold and bitter. What happened?

I suddenly heard a commotion upstairs.

I debated for a couple of minutes whether I should go up there or not.

Naturally being a curious panda, I decided to go upstairs.

Once I reached the second floor, the noises were clearer.

Moans. Moans of pleasure.

Mom and dad were out getting groceries, so that must be Nick and a girl.

There was a strange feeling in my chest, but I ignored it.

Deciding that some fresh air would do my head some good, I put on some clothes and went out.

The lights were illuminating the street. The wind caressed my cheek. The leaves were being carried by a light breeze.

I suddenly felt watched. As if someone was following me.
