Unexpected Love

Chapter 32

Elizabeth's POV
"Hey Alec?"I called out softly. We were on the institute's roof with a blanket staring up at the stars together as we cuddled up next to each other

"Yes love?" He responds smiling as he looks down at me. "Do you ever wonder what would have happened if we never met?" I asked and he shakes his head

"I try not to think about that because we are here right now together and that's all that matters. All I could tell you is that my life would be miserable if you weren't here and I thank all those stars in the night sky right now that you're here with me right now and that you're mine" He says caressing my cheek softly.

I grinned at his words as I shifted so I was sitting on his lap. "You Alexander Lightwood sure do have a way with words" I smile pecking his lips before quickly pulling away but leaving my lips hovering inching away from his.

"I do don't I?" He says playfully and I nod. "Yeah my favorite has to be "Come here often?"" I laugh and he pulls away looking at me with a pout

"I'll never live that down will I?" He asks with a frown and I chuckle. "No you won't" I say before closing the tiny gap between us with a passionate kiss to try and express the love I have for his man. He kissed me back with equal passion as he wraps his arms around my waist pushing me impossibly closer as my hands went to tug on his silky raven locks

"I" Kiss. "Love" kiss. "You" Alec says in between kisses making me smile and pull back just to say those three words back before kissing him again

Suddenly a phone goes off and Alec shakes his head before pulling me back to his lips as I tried to pull away to see who was calling.

"Babe it might be important" I said and he groans before picking up his phone which was the one that kept going off

"It's Jace. He is starting to really annoy me" Alec mumbles as he picks up the phone. "Yes Jace?" He questions and I sit there on Alec's lap as he rolls his eyes.

"Can it wait I'm actually really busy right now" He says as he tapped his fingers on my hip impatiently

"It doesn't matter what I am doing Jace I said it's important" He whines out before his cheeks flush. "No I'm not with Elizabeth" He says looking at me as I try to hold back a laugh

He huffs before sighing loudly. "Fine give me like twenty minutes" he says into the phone before he glares at nothing in particular

"Yes Jace I need all twenty minutes to say goodbye to my girlfriend you can wait" He says before hanging up

"I'm sorry love he needs help with a demon nest-" I cut him off with a small kiss before smiling. "It's fine we're shadowhunters it's part of the job" I said as I got up.

"I just wanted to spend a day with you. I feel like the only time we see each other is on missions these days" He pout and I shake my head

"You drama queen we see each other everyday and the most we've been apart is five hours. I think Jace misses his parabatai" I laugh out loud and he sighs

"Why can't he hang out with Izzy?" He pouts once more and I laugh at his childish acts as I help him up.

"Because I'm hanging out with Izzy. Now go you big baby. " I chuckle as I place a peck on his cheek and push him towards the doors to enter the institute again

"Wait wait wait" he says turning back around to face me and I chuckle once more. "Yes Alec?"  I say smiling up at him as he stood in front of me pulling me towards him
