I quietly step into the dilapidated old building with my beta and three male warriors at my heels. My ears strain to pick up any sound of a possible threat while my eyes gaze over the disarray of the room around us.

Each step we take is calculated to ensure our silence, if anyone is inside the building, they won't have any idea we are coming for them. As I step into the old reception area a piercing scream chills me to the bone.

My eyes snap to an opening behind a bookshelf that sits behind the broken wooden desk, and I take off running. My beta and the warriors only a second behind me. I grip the edge of the bookshelf and shove it open as fast as I can, and what I see makes my vision turn red.

Carter is unconscious, bleeding, half naked and is being held up by her throat from that Lycan bastard. A growl tears its way up my throat and Carter stirs. Her eyes flicker open slowly and meet mine. Relief floods my soul to see that she is alive.

Tyler lifts Carter off the ground by her throat, her feet dangle lifelessly a few inches from the floor. He looks back at me and grins.

"Alright Alpha, let's play." Tyler says his voice is distorted and rough as he pulls Carter close to him before thrusting his arm out and tossing her limp body through the air and down the steep cement stairway.

"No!" I scream and lunge forward to try and get to her body before it crashes to the bottom of the stairs. Tyler surges forward and his claws pierce into my throat as he picks my body up and slams me to the ground. I grab the blade from my side and thrust it into his ribs, burying it to the hilt. His gasp of pain is music to my ears and in his momentary distraction I kick my feet into his chest, throwing him off me. Instantly I am back on my feet and drop into a defensive stance.

We are behind you my Alpha, get this fucker out from the stairwell and we will end this. We can't get a clear shot and I won't risk you getting hit. Liam's voice echoes in my mind at the same time as I hear Carters body hit the hard floor at the bottom of the stairs. My blood runs cold and I fight back the bile rising up my throat. The sound of her head cracking against the cement, vibrates through the air.

It takes everything in me not to abandon the plan and risk everything just to get past him. I need to get Tyler out of the way as fast as I can and get down to Carter. I need to get her to a healer before I lose her. I can hear the faint beating of her heart and that is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

"You won't live to regret that, I promise you." I growl to him as I take a step back, Tyler takes a step forward in return. "I want to make you regret ever touching her. I want to have you begging me to save your pathetic life as I tear your body to pieces." I take another few steps back, and he follows suit. "But my wolf won't allow you to live another second once our claws are on you."

Tyler is smiling viciously, and I know that he thinks my retreating steps are in his favor. He obviously doesn't have much control over his wolf yet, or he would be able to hear the heartbeats and breathing of my beta and the ten warriors I have waiting just outside of this room.

"Are you jealous, pup? Does it tear you up inside to know I had my way with her? Did you smell her arousal when you fell so perfectly into her plan, and went to my cabin?" Tyler gloats as he continues his forward assault. "If only you could have heard her moans of pleasure or the way she screamed my name as I pounded into her. It was heavenly if I must say so myself."

I grind my teeth audibly and continue stepping back. I try top ignore his words, but they hit their mark. I'm gutted over it. I take two steps out of the hallway, and I am finally past the secret bookshelf door. If I can get him move another five feet forward, he will be in prime position for take down.
