“Hey, are you alright?”

Taehyung’s voice startled Jhope as he entered the restroom.

“Yeah… thanks for asking. Where’s Yoongi, Tae?”

“He’s at our table. So… are you guys dating now or what?”

Jhope giggled, looking at Taehyung’s reflection in the mirror.

“What do you think, Tae? Do we look like a couple?”

“Well… honestly? Yes.”

“Pfft, well, you guessed wrong. We’re just best friends, nothing more.”

“Really? Then why do you look so good together?” Taehyung asked, feigning a smile.

Jhope laughed playfully and turned to face him.

“That’s what I thought too. But nah… we’re more like brothers. We grew up together, practically under one roof, but no one dared to level up our relationship. And, of course, you know Yoongi’s heart already belongs to someone, right? Let me name that someone—Kim Taehyung.”

“What—”

“Through all the ups and downs, I’ve been with him. Including when he lost you because you left. I almost abandoned him too after he confessed what he did—leaving you and the baby behind. Luckily, he explained everything to me. Yoongi was terrified of disappointing his parents. He lived like a robot, doing only what they wanted. You got pregnant unexpectedly, and he wasn’t ready… he was too young to understand the responsibility. I should’ve warned him, I admit that.”

Jhope stepped closer and held both of Taehyung’s hands.

“I’m his best friend. I shouldn’t have tolerated him when you two had a secret affair behind Jungkook’s back. Believe it or not, I tried to stop him—but he was blindly in love with you.”

He paused, smiling gently. Taehyung noticed a flicker behind that smile but chose not to dwell on it.

“What I’m trying to say is… he truly regrets leaving you, Taehyung. His family disowned him because he chose you over them. He came back for you, to build a life together with you and the baby—but sadly, he was too late. You’d already left. Yet, he never stopped looking for you.”

“W-why… just now, Hope? Now that my heart is already filled with sadness and anger? I’m still hurting!”

“You’re wrong again, Taehyung. Your actions might lie, but your eyes—your eyes are betraying you. I can see it. You’re in denial about your own feelings. Deep down, you need the person who owns your heart. I’m just a friend, but let me give you some advice: life is too short. We often realize someone’s worth only after we’ve lost them. You have to learn to let go of what hurts you and embrace what makes you happy. Accept the chances life gives you, and welcome the outcomes—joy or tears alike.”

Taehyung cried in Jhope’s arms, finally admitting to himself that his friend was right. He had been blinded by past hurts, scarred and afraid to love again.

“You have the same feelings, Tae Tae. So why stop yourself from being happy? Trust me, Yoongi won’t make you cry anymore. He’s matured, he thinks about life differently now. And if he messes up again… I promise I’ll be the first to—”
