Billie gave me the coffee she bought me and sat on the end of my hospital bed.
"So when do you think you can come home?"
Billie said drinking her unusually large coffee. I hope she's not struggling with her sleep again. I should ask about that.
"God as soon as possible I hate it here" I rolled my eyes and groaned.
"Your hot when you roll your eyes" She said and smiled.
I blushed hard and laughed awkwardly.
"Yeah sure.." I said quietly
"What's so bad about this place anyway" Billie gestured around the room "seems fine to me" and shrugged.
"Are you kidding me? Did you see the food I was eating when you came in? I haven't had a decent coffee in like a week..until now, thanks for this by the way" I smiled and rose up my cup.
"No problem" she smiled and stared at me for a while. She looked like she was tearing up and I didn't understand why.
"Billie whats wrong?"
"What oh nothing I just haven't seen you in tooooo long"
"What? How long!" I was getting concerned.
"I don't know like...3 or 4 weeks"
"WEEKS?" I said louder.
"Uh yeah" she said like it was obvious.
"IVE BEEN IN.."
I stopped talking and thought about it.
I've basically been in a coma.
I am a person that has been in a coma.
How did that even happen?
"What the fuck happened to me"
"Didn't the doctor or nurse dude tell you?"
"The doctor or nurse dude? Really?"
"Shut up answer the question"
"Okay dayum. I think he said car accident.
Yeah car accident. I remember driving...thinking about...something"
I looked away from her. I'm pretty sure I was thinking about her. I don't remember what it was but I know it was billie. It's always billie.
"Okay...what else?"
"I got...distracted and then whatever happened I don't know"
"That's okay don't worry" She said and opened her mouth to say something again but was interrupted by someone coming in.
"Oh hello! Alexandra how are you?"
"Uh I'm okay..what's wrong?"
"Oh right yes we have finished all your tests and I think with the right instructions, that's you need to follow so you don't end up back here, you can go home!"
"Wait really?"
"Yes" she replied
"oh that's good" Billie said quietly. Why is she not excited? I don't have to be in this rubbish place anymore and I get a 'oh that's good'
"Okay thank you"
"Billie what th-"
"YES!!! AHH IM SO EXCITED! YOU CAN COME HOME!"
"That's more like it" I smiled.
