Obanai pointed out as they watched how the Mist Hashira and Cloud Hashira were walking down the pathway, heading towards where the courtyard was. A daily routine they would often see when they are both not on a mission.

Anybody could tell that the young Cloud Hashira was in love with the Mist Hashira, how much she had admired him then, for he was one who had entered the ranks as a Hashira within just two months.

Day and night, they were seen talking to one another, but often would Muichiro forget about who she was. Was it on purpose? She never knew the answer, but she was grateful that after a few words about who she was, he would remember her again.

And then came that smile that he only showed to her, and nobody else. They said he wasn't one who bothered with showing emotions, often having that deadpan look on his face.

He often zoned out and daydream, wondering what were certain things in the sky or rather whether he had eaten his meal. Sometimes he wondered where he was going as well, which resulted in his crow reminding him time and again.

And then he reached out, his hand unconsciously holding onto her small one as they sat on the patio. Their heads tilt up as they looked up to the sky, watching as the clouds were drifting by slowly.

How long has it been since she admired him? She wasn't sure. But she knew the more she spends time with him, the more she was falling for him. Her pink-tinted lips pressed into a fine thin line then as they continued to watch the clouds.

Occasionally would they point out what they see in the clouds, but often it would be that comfortable silence as always. She shifted her gaze, watching him from the corner of her eyes did she notice that small smile that wasn't so visible to the naked eye.

One would have to squint to look at whether he was smiling or not. Yet, the way her lips parted as she wanted to speak of her feelings, only for her to close her mouth the moment he turned to look at her.

"What?" he asked, somehow making her feel that he was annoyed with the way she acted. She slowly shook her head then as they continued with looking at the clouds once more.

Kakushis walked past, some were whispering as they pointed to the two youngest Hashiras who were holding onto each other's hands. Some lower-ranked demon slayers started to point towards them as well, only to quickly walk away the moment Muichiro's gaze was upon them.

Yet, his grip on [name]'s hand tightened.

[name] then watched as he rummaged through what seems to be something he kept within the long sleeves of his uniform, and soon held his other hand out. She looked at confusedly as she placed her hand out as well.

Only for him to drop an origami in a shape that seems all too familiar to her. Her cheeks had a slight blush on them then, only for him to resume looking towards the sky once again.

Not bothering with answering with what he had done as the duo remained silent once more. She looked at what was in her hand, somehow it gave her some sort of confidence to whether she should express how she feels.

Yet, at the back of her mind, she was only wondering then whether it would be alright for her to say such a thing. Her lips parted once more, only to have her eyes shifting as Muichiro shifted himself, laying his head on her lap and she couldn't help but look at him.

He reached out with ease, grabbing hold of her hand once more as he slowly shut his mint-green eyes. She looked at him, looking at how he was about to drift off to sleep.

Her lips soon parted then, believing now would be the best time to express how she feels. Her heart pounding hard against her chest as she spoke, she could feel the blood rushing through her veins.

Believing he wouldn't hear. Even if he did, he would forget.

Just like how he always did when it comes to remembering her existence.

"𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐨-𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭,"

she whispered out and her eyes widened as she realized he was shifting slightly in his slumber, only to have his mint-green eyes opening as he looked at her. Her face flushed red then as he looked at her.

"What did you say?" he asked, which she shook her head.

"Nothing," she whispered out.

She walked back to the headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps. Her eyes laid upon the entrance, yet she felt heavy. It had been a day ever since her supposed confession, and she was sent on a mission.

Now she could only hope and pray that Muichiro would have forgotten about her confession. She let out a sigh once more as she walked over to where most of the lower-ranked demon slayers were.

She wishes to have some sort of a way to cancel of all that she feels so that she wouldn't feel troubled about being rejected, or worst, being ignored by the Mist Hashira.

She got closer to the crowd, hearing some of the lower-ranked demon slayers whispering about what was going on, but she couldn't hear clearly.

Wondering what was going on, only for her eyes to widen as she realized Muichiro was threatening one of them. She tilts her head, wondering what got him so angry, and his mint-green eyes laid upon him once more.

"Talk about her again and I won't hesitate," he mumbled out in a deadly manner that sent shivers down the lower-ranked demon slayers' spines. She watched as he got up, walking to where she was did he grab hold of her hand.

Pulling her towards the courtyard once again, did they sit on the patio. She looked utterly confused, wondering why he was acting in such a manner that she has never seen before.

Only for him to lay down on her lap, did he start to speak then. Her eyes widened as she couldn't help but feel his hand reaching out for hers, and soon it grabbed hold of it.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭? 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞,"

he whispered out and [name] couldn't help but laugh softly at what he had said as she nodded her head, where he noticed it and soon that rare smile appeared on his face.

"It's a promise,"
