Cedric smirks as he tosses me a shirt and my pants before heading into the bathroom. I can't help the grin on my face as I drop back onto his bed after I'm changed, a simple spell cleaning the sheets.

"Hi," he grins as he re-enters, flopping onto the bed next to me, his form only covered in his boxers as he grabs me by my waist pulling me into him

"Hi," I grin back, pressing my lips to his before placing my head on his chest.

We lay in silence for a while, his hand scratching my bare thigh gently and my fingers playing gently with his spare hand that rests on his abdomen.

"So," he starts gently

"What's up?" I question

"Your mums a Veela, that's new information," he prompts. I had never really told Cedric about my mum, I hadn't even known her name after all. He's aware I only knew her from the one picture that she's in, it hangs in uncle Remus's living room.

She's sitting in it, one christmas morning in Hogwarts, she's perched on my dads lap, an easy smile on her lips and her head leaning back to rest on his shoulder. Lily and James are laughing to the left and Remus and Peter are on either end of the two couples. They look so happy. So carefree. It always felt weird to think that only two months later she would find out she was pregnant.

"Her name is Arabella Delacey," I shrug

"Pretty name," he hums

"She was born in London but her mother sent her to a Parisian prep school, she was a year older than my dad. She studied at beauxbatons but would spend her summer vacations travelling around Europe. She met my dad when he was in the summer between his fifth and sixth year in London and they hit it off, they were obsessed with each other all summer and she cancelled her travel plans to stay and be with him. They were madly in love. Absolutely heartbroken to have to part ways at the end of summer, but, it was time for the triwizard tournament. They fell in love in the year she was at Hogwarts, were inseparable. She was a free spirit and continued to travel after she graduated, the plan being for my dad to join her after his final year, but she would visit him often, they'd sneak her into the castle, I mean she even spent Christmas. Anyway, she got pregnant and told my dad she wanted to get rid of it, well, me. He just couldn't do it. She loved him and didn't want to hurt him so she agreed to carry the baby and let him have it. She had me and then left, no one had seen her or heard from her since," I tell him the same story my dad had told me

"Wow. Are you like her at all?"

"I mean my personality not really, I'm utterly my dad according to everyone that knows us. And I got dads hair. But I look a lot like her, identical to her aside from the hair. I kinda wish I didn't. I mean if she didn't want me I don't want her,"

"Yknow your hair is one of my favourite things about you?" He questions

"Really?"I laugh

"Yeah. How it's all soft and shiny. And it's a bit curly but in like a bouncy way. How dark if looks when you're pale in the winter. It's beautiful. All of you is beautiful," he grins pressing a kiss to the top of my head.

"She wants to meet me,"

"Do you wanna meet her?"

"I don't know. I mean, I never needed her and she hurt me but it doesn't take away from the fact she's my mother and the love of my dads life. I want him to be happy. Surely I can tolerate her for his sake,"

"Yknow he would pick you in a heartbeat,"

"I know. He's done it before, I don't want him to have to do it again,"

"If you want to meet her I could come with you, or one of the twins, Angelina, whoever would make you the most comfortable,"

"I think I will. For him," I admit

"I love you," he smiles gently, lips pressing to the top of my head

"I love you," I return. We lay in a comfortable silence for a while, the buzz of outside sounding through the open window.

"I should study," he groans as the sun begins to set, our afternoon classes abandoned "the final task is in a week," he adds

"I'll come with if you want?" I offer

"As much as I love you, you're far too distracting for studying thats actually important. Plus, you have a letter to write to your dad and you need to go speak to your uncle and your friends," he reminds

"You're right. I do have all that. If I can help with preparation for  the third task at all though, just let me know," I request, climbing out of his warm embrace and stealing some joggers from his open trunk, folding my clothes into a near pile to carry back to my dorm with me.

"I will angel," he assures, moving to pull his own clothes on.

"I'll see you later?" I question

"I'll sneak over at dinner," he returns, stopping his search for a shirt to pull me towards him quickly, pressing a kiss to my lips in goodbye before I send him one last smile and flounce out of the Hufflepuff common room, unable to stop myself from laughing when Cedric's friends, who are gathered around a table with their work set up around them, let out loud cheers at the sight of me.
