Lucas didn't even know how he must feel right now. His eyes kept on glancing at the phone screen, with a slight shocked feeling that wasn't also quite a shock.

It was a news that just randomly popped up since he just casually typed on his phone. Yet, he was the only one that knew what it took to search for such news that would probably bring him more complications.

It was the news about Savannah. Lucas knew he shouldn't have getting privy with her affairs, but somehow there was something inexplicable that caused him to do so.

"Are you alright?" Andrew dumped a few files on the table, his eyes accidentally swept past the Lucas' phone on the table and the website of a news that hadn't been closed yet.

Lucas stared at Andrew, and his eyes moved at what Andrew was looking that had gotten his attention to turn serious. Andrew let out a few dry coughs and seemed to mumble something as if he had just casually saying it.

"Mmm, I wonder if Amara needs a father." The voice wasn't loud, but it seemed to be deliberate as if he wanted a certain someone to hear it. He wasn't looking at Lucas as he said it, instead his eyes was on the wall as if he'd just found something interesting on it.

Looking at Andrew, Lucas' eyes turned into a glare as he didn't even realize it himself. Andrew was stunned, then he just smiled and waved his hand. "Excuse me, Boss. I still have some work to do."

"Stay." Lucas' word sounded so cold that ut made Andrew sweat slightly. Damn it, he knew that he shouldn't have run his mouth so freely while this devil was in bad mood.

Lucas grabbed a few files from his locker and handed it to Andrew. "Create fifty pages of reports about this month meetings and how it went."

Andrew blinked. He looked at the files on Lucas' hand then began to think. "But, you know that I should create the other reports about the profit this month, right?"

Lucas put his hand on his chin as if he was considering about it. Andrew looked at him expectantly.

"The report wasn't that long, if you are unable to complete it. Just tell Miss Easton to do the job and make sure to hand it over to me by tomorrow." Lucas' mouth involutarily curved up slightly.

"Tch," Andrew mumbled in displeasure under his breath, even more after looking at Lucas' smug expression. It was as if he had just thought of something.

Andrew didn't want to linger any longer, in case that Lucas would punish him with even more works. He just decided to do as Lucas had told him.

After Andrew had left, Lucas couldn't help but read the content again. He swiped his phone into one of the particular news he had opened earlier, one which Andrew didn't even know.

It was the news about his cousin. As he had too many family members that he couldn't remember all of them, he didn't really knew about this particular cousin of his.

His name was Justin Hernandez. He died in a car accident a few years ago, as a father of one child and a husband.

Savannah's former husband.

Lucas' had a tangled feeling in his heart. Somehow, he had a feeling that he was going to unravel some secrets, and it started with this one.

He put on a pondering look as his hand played with a pen, hitting it on the table absentmindedly. He exhale a mouthful of air just as a knock on the door disturbed his thoughts.

His sharp eyes immediately looked at the door, as if expecting something, or rather someone. A delicate voice sounded once two knocking were heard. "Sir Hernadez. I am Sofia here to deliver the report."

A frown involuntarily made its way to Lucas' forehead that even he didn't realize it himself. He was silence for a moment until another knocking and the same voice full of doubt was heard again. "Sir Hernandez?"

He said in a light tone. "Enter."

Sofia opened the door and gave Lucas a sweet smile, showing her dimples. Lucas looked at Sofia's dimples and couldn't help but question his memory. Did Sofia used to have dimples like she was right now?

"Here's the reports on profit for this month, Sir." Sofia said, handing the stacked up files to Lucas. Lucas took the files from Sofia's hand and read it briefly, then he turned his attention back to Sofia. "Where's Miss Easton?"

Sofia was momentarily taken aback, not expecting that instead of asking about things regarding the reports, he was asking about a person instead. Sofia recovered herself quickly and she answered Lucas' question. "Miss Easton called this morning and informed that she was sick. She told that she needs some sometime to nurse back her health."

Sofia looked at Lucas' unchanging expression and then at the reports of the profit. She softly explained it to Lucas, as if afraid that he would misunderstood. "The report was made by Miss Easton yesterday, Sir. She didn"t forget to do it, and I was told to only deliver it to your office."

Andrew probably hadn't known that this reports had been made by Savannah. She was pretty quick at her job.

Lucas' expression somehow made Sofia felt uncertain, looking at those eyes that neither they were warm nor cold, she suddenly felt that facing this man was akin to handling a wide maze full of traps.

"Alright then." Lucas nodded at Sofia. "You can go."

Then, he went back checking the report in his hand. Sofia looked at him with a tangled expression. Why did he ignore her now?

Yet, she couldn't ask him that. Sofia excused herself and left the room, her heart still held some doubts. And she couldn't help the feeling of slightly hurt at Lucas' cold shoulder.

She thought again about Savannah and wondered the relationship between the two. She clenched her hands tightly. Then, as if nothing had happened inside the office, Sofia walked to her own desk resolutely.

Lucas looked at the report in his hand and kept on looking at it a few times. As he had done reading it, his eyes suddenly moved towards the window. It was hard to read what was currently on his mind with that emotionless face of his.
