The bright light of the morning sun gradually fell on her face as the shadows of the blinds settled on her slumbering body.
A quiet yawn left her lips before her eyelids finally dared to flutter open, quickly trying to get used to her new surrounding.

Oddly energized, she stretched her limbs, turning to the side shortly after, only to realize that something was missing. Or rather someone.

Sunghee's POV

A small smile adorned my lips and for the first time in a while I felt completely energized.

Okay, maybe the latter was a lie, since the effect of yesterday's painkillers had completely disappeared and I could feel the sharp pain running through the nerves in my hip.
For some reason, however, I completely faded it out and tried to think of something nicer.

But although I was filled with an unusual bliss at that moment, it somehow seemed to leave me in no time.

No sooner did I turn to the side on the bed than the previous smile instantly disappeared and instead caused a mixture of disappointment and frustration to spread within me.

The room was completely empty.

No Donghyuck smiling softly at me, making a typical cocky remark with a sleepy but sweet morning voice or him putting his warm hand on mine while gently stroking my palm with his thumb.

There was no one... Only me and the golden rays that shone on the empty spot beside me.

I couldn't define the feelings that rose inside me and to be honest I didn't really want to know it. The possibility of me getting pissed the next few minutes was definitely high though.

Before I could sink into my current state and drown in my own thoughts, a soft knocking sounded at my door and automatically made my head shoot in its direction.
Fortunately, I didn't have time to get my hopes up that it might have been a certain brunette, since the door swung open before I was able to give my permission.

"Oh, you're up already?"  a familiar voice sounded and I sat up carefully with my aching limbs.

"With that pain, it's surprising that I was able to sleep at all," I mumbled softly to myself and watched the handsome ravenette walk over to me with a tray full of food and something to drink.
