Such Incredible Wonder

No matter what skeletons you've found in my closet;
And no matter who or what have come out of it;
I'm still me at the end of the day;
And I know you'll still love me.
I may be a genre you were not expecting;
Or a plot twist blocking a happy ending;
But I'll always be that guy who writes away his life;
I'm still me, just trying to get everything right.

Nobody really knows who I am;
Like a light switch in your home that nobody knows the function of.
I'm a walking enigma leaving questions in my wake;
An easy going handful to take.
I'm six million people at once;
A single father with no kids, a family with no trust; not an ounce.
A son with secrets eating him alive; a boy who never gets things right.

No matter what skeletons you've found in my closet;
And no matter who or what have come out of it;
I'm still me at the end of the day;
And I know you'll still love me.
I may be a genre you were not expecting;
Or a plot twist blocking a happy ending;
But I'll always be that guy who writes away his life;
I'm still me, just trying to get everything right.

But I'm finally coming into my own as a man;
Breaking out of my bubble and taking a chance;
Taking a chance on who I'm trying to be;
Wondering who I want, in the mirror, to see.
Isn't it so exciting that we have empty days coming our way;
We could find our one true love tomorrow;
Or maybe we'll lose what we love in a graceless sorrow.
Nobody knows what's around the corner;
But doesn't that fill your heart with such incredible wonder?
I, for one, am excited to see what's in store for me;
So take my hand and share this electricity in my energy;
Embrace what's coming to make you, you;
As I'll for the same for me.
