My head was aching as if there were heavy rocks falling on my head. My body felt weird and not in a good way. There was a deafening silence that filled the room.

I was laying on a bed, a hospital bed to be exact. It was dark outside with light rain trickling down the window. Beside me was a girl, the receptionist who always forgets my name. She was sleeping on the couch silently. I sat up and it hurt a lot. My body began to ache from moving.

The girl's eye begin to flutter open, she looked exhausted. When she saw me her eyes shot open.

"You're awake again" She said silently. She started rubbing her eyes and brushing her clothes to try and get the wrinkles off.

"What happened?" My throat was dry. Making it hard to speak clearly.

"I walked into your office to see you passed out on the floor. I took you to the hospital and they said they didn't know what was wrong with you. You were unconscious for 3 weeks. I'm just glad you're awake and well."

I nodded my head.

"Thanks..uh" I forgot her name. Great.

"Lia." She said.

"Ah, Lia."

"Look April, I just want to apologise for all the times I've ignored you and how I've never appreciated all the hard work you've done for us. I never even remembered your name. But when you were gone, it felt weird to walk past your empty office. And I really want to get to know you better, you are a really nice person and I never realised that until when you were away."

I was surprised, really. I was actually recognised for once. She was willingly wanting to hang out with me and get to know me.

I smiled at her, a tired one though.

"Sure, okay."

"Really? Great! You can leave in the morning and it's Saturday tomorrow and boss said you can come back on Monday."

I nodded.

"Thank you Lia but can you leave me now, I'm really tired again."

She nodded leaving the room and leaving me in the room alone. I laid back down and almost instantly fell asleep.

~~~
The sun was shining through the glass door of the hospital. Lia offered to take me home, I mean I ain't complaining. That saves me walking home from the hospital.
"Thank you Lia." I said as I stepped out her car with my stuff.
"You didn't forget anything did you? If you need anything you have my number. Call me okay?
I nodded and waved as her car pulled away from my driveway. I walked up to my porch, I grabbed my spare key that I hid. Slowly, I opened the door revealing my empty home. Wandering my eyes around, my house looked very empty and a little dirty, it could do with a clean and some new furniture.
I place my bag with old clothes and medication from the hospital on the kitchen table. Besides the dust that was building up and some food wrappers that laid around, the house was empty and kind of boring.
"Let's get cleaning." I said tying my hair back.
I'm not too sure how long passed but the sun starting to set. The house was clean though. I tried to change up the positions of the furniture but I need to buy more furniture.
There was a knock on the door. I placed the box of old items down before wiping my forehead and opening the front door.
"Lia?"
"Hey April. I was wondering if you wanted to grab dinner."
"Oh yeah sure, I just need to put some things away. Come in"
I lead her inside while grabbing some loose items on the way.
"Your house is really empty."
"I know, I'm planning on buying furniture I just need to find time."
"There's no better time than now, plus we can grab dinner on the way back." Lia said happily as she starting jumping around.
"What? It's almost 6"
"Shops don't close til 7" I didn't even say a word and I was dragged out the door and away to the shops.
When we came back, we had to do many trips to and from the car. I had never shopped for so many things in my life before. I bought new furniture, some house plants and other home decorations that made my house more homely.
We decided that we'd sort some of the new furniture tonight and continue tomorrow. I reheated the food we bought which was fried chicken and rice. We sat around the TV watching a movie but actually spent most of the time talking to each other and getting to know each other. I found out that Lia was quite similar to me.
She was the same age as me, lived alone but in an apartment. Her parents live in a different city and she came to this city because the job she has pays her well. Lia also wanted to stay over for the night so we could finish setting up tomorrow which I agreed. We decided to finish watching the movie and sleep on the couch.
But I remembered something. Would I go back if I sleep again. I mean I didn't last night but there's a possibility. Wait, Lia said she found me passed out in my office, did she not see Jay come in or how he was chasing me that day.
"Hey Lia" I said drawing her attention from the TV. She hummed in response.
"That day you found me unconscious, you didn't see a man our age did you?"
She shook her head. Hmm...
"What about before that. Do you remember when you said there was someone that wanted to see me and it was a man."
"I'm not too sure who you're talking about. I do remember about someone wanting to see you but I'm pretty sure it was a woman."
What?
"Wait so what about the building in front of the pasta restaurant. Isn't it like the Park Jay Inc or something."
I cringed when his name left my mouth.
"April are you okay? The building in front of the restaurant has been abandoned for almost three years."
Something isn't right. I nodded my head while Lia turned her attention back to the TV. I pulled out my phone and went onto google.
I searched 'Park Jay Inc'
No result found.
