AN: Have never seen the anime or read the manga so quite a few things might be wrong.

"You know, it's not a good idea that you haven't stepped out since he was admitted. You need to take a break."

You shrugged her hand off, not wanting to be bothered. Your boyfriend was in a coma and there was nothing you could do but wait for him to get better.

"I'm not leaving until he's better Megumi. This is all my fault. I should've listened to him but I didn't and now he's hurt." Megumi doesn't say anything. Simply just grabs another chair to sit beside you. "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm not leaving you. I can't get you to leave for at least an hour so I'm staying here to keep you company."

"You have a lot of things to do that I'm sure you'd rather be doing than being stuck in a hospital..."

"Stop. The two of you are my friends. There's nothing in this world that I would rather be doing than sitting here with the two of you."

You sigh and nod. She's always been too stubborn to ever change her mind.

Having Megumi around was nice. She helped you distract yourself from the thoughts that you would often have about what happened. The two of you were in the middle of a heated argument about whose book was better when Kiyo suddenly calls for you.

"(y/n)?"

He barely spoke above a whisper but you had still heard him.

"Kiyo! You're awake!"

You stood up to hug him tightly, tears already running down your cheeks at the good news. Megumi had already stepped out to get a doctor, knowing that it would take you a while to get a doctor. As she made her way to the nurse's station, she couldn't help but be a little disappointed. Now that Kiyo was awake, she wasn't going to be able to spend as much time as she used to with you. It made her feel guilty for having those kinds of thoughts but she couldn't help herself. She liked spending time with you.

Kiyo had been released from the hospital almost 2 days ago and you hadn't left his side. Despite you always constantly being with him, he couldn't help but feel that something had changed. He wasn't sure what it was but he knew that you weren't in love with him anymore. He knew you far better than himself that it didn't take long for him to realize that you had feelings towards Megumi. You were much more happier whenever she visited.

"You don't love me anymore, do you?"

He asks out of the blue. The two of you were simply walking around the park, enjoying the fresh air.

"Kiyo, don't be ridiculous. Of course, I love you."

"But not like you used to. You only love me in a friendly way. You love Megumi."

You stopped walking at the mention of her name. Whenever you thought about her, your heart beat faster. You had never admitted to yourself that you had fallen for Megumi in fear of hurting Kiyo but now that he had brought it up, it made you feel guilty.

"I'm sorry, Kiyo. I didn't want to hurt y..."

The two of you are interrupted when someone jumps in your path. He started attacking at an incredible speed that caught the two of you off guard. Not being quick enough to pull out your book, you jump in front of Kiyo to stop him from getting further injured.

"(y/n)!"

Megumi cries for you as she sees you fall. When she heard about what was going to happen, she had sped to the park. Had she only been faster, she could've arrived in time. She yells a quick defensive spell, enclosing you and Kiyo in a bubble.

"Take care of her, I'll deal with this asshole."

Kiyo nods and attends to your wounds as Megumi continues to fight.

"H..how is she?"

Megumi had managed to win despite it being a close call. She was covered in sweat, nearly ready to pass out from exhaustion but she worried for you.

"She passed out but she'll be fine. She just needs a lot of rest."

She lets out a sigh of relief at the news. She had managed to save the two of you.

"We should take her home."

"Where are you going? You're not going to stay?"

Kiyo looks at you and the back at Megumi.

"No. She needs you more. She's in love with you, Megumi. I know that you're in love with her. I'm not going to stand in the way of the two of you."

"Kiyo, I'm so.."

"Stop, you can't help who you fall for. I'm not mad. Just take care of her and give me a call if you need anything."

Megumi nods, giving him a grateful smile. He walks himself out, leaving the two of you alone. He loved you but you were no longer in love with him. The greatest thing that he could do out of love was to let you go be with the one that you truly loved.
