Luke's POV

Pulling away from Ashton suddenly meant he got concerned very quickly, "Baby, what's wrong?" He asked and I ended up flicking my eyes to Ashton before quickly looking back to where I'd seen Mr Bates but he was gone.

Confused, I looked around the area where I saw him to see if I could spot him but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Luke, baby, what is it?" Ashton turned around to look where I was looking but looked back around to me when he couldn't see anything. "Luke, what's wrong?" Ashton asked me again but placed his hand on my cheek and moved my head so I'd look at him rather than behind him.

"I-I thought I saw Mr Bates."

"What?" Ashton gasped and snapped his head round to see if he could spot the man but turned back to me when he couldn't see him. "Baby, there's no one there."

"I-I was sure I saw him but now he's gone." I shook my head, tears threatening to spill because I felt as though I was going crazy.

"Hey, it's alright, you're just stressed." Ashton said as I lifted my head up so I'd look at him again.

"But I was so sure." I almost cried right there and then, not liking the excuse of me being stressed because he looked me dead in the eye; or at least I thought he did.

"Babe, I'm just gonna get you home ok and you can go relax, clear your mind. Sound alright?" Ashton suggested, trying his best to just ease my mind.

"Yeah, that sounds great actually." I commented knowing that he was right, I was stressed and just needed to go relax for a bit. I was becoming paranoid over nothing. Everything was ok.

-------

'I was walking, I knew home was the destination but from where I'd come from, I had no idea and I didn't care because something about the air seemed off. Like something wasn't quite right and it unnerved me slightly, that was the only emotion present with me.

The sounds of my feet hitting the pavement were the only sounds I could hear as I walked but as I walked down the long and dark road, someone else's footsteps began to follow me. The uneasiness of the atmosphere was making me tense, I may have been being paranoid but something didn't sit well with me and the footsteps were not helping the situation.

Willing the footsteps to go away, I quickened my pace as I walked down the street and to my horror; the other person's pace changed to match mine.

Quickening my pace even further, I tried to pull out my phone from my pocket to call Ashton but I let out a scream when hands suddenly grabbed me. My phone was dropped to the floor and a hand sealed over my mouth as I was pulled against the body of the person.

The person just placed the side of his head to mine as I struggled, their breath on my ear.

"I've missed you, Luke." The voice breathed, nausea already hitting me.

'Let me go' was what I tried to say but it came out sounding muffled and incoherent.

"Oh Luke, you're so handsome now, so beautiful." The man whispered into my ear and I did everything I could to pull away from him but he held tight.

"I've waited so long for you Luke, 2 years is far too much time without seeing you but you were worth the wait." The man moved his head so he could press a kiss to the side of my head before he moved to whisper in my ear again, "You're all mine now Luke, just mine."'

And it was then that I woke with a start, just like the other night, expect this time Ashton wasn't in the bed next to me and I somewhat panicked.

"Ashton?!" I called out, almost in terror.

"Luke! What is it? What happened?" Ashton was frantic when he entered the room but then saw the state I was in and quickly made his way over to me."Baby, what happened?"

"Nightmare." Was the only this I managed to get out but it was enough for Ashton to gather me up in his arms.

He understood this was hard for me, especially after earlier, and I appreciated that because although the content of this dream was not as nasty as those of a few days ago but it still terrified me and chilled me to the bone because the feeling of his hands were so real. It was like I was living my experiences again each time I had a dream like that and that's what made me so upset about them.

Having Ashton here did make it better though, I knew he was there for me and there to help me and I love him for that. I really do.

However, despite the love and his reassurance that they were just dreams and Mr Bates couldn't hurt me anymore, something was telling me that what he was saying wasn't completely true and it was unsettling to say the least.
