My eyes widen in shock when I see Ace standing in the elevator.
"Alex-" I try to press the close button so that he doesn't enter
But he pushes the door and walks right in
"Get OUT!" I yell
"Alexandra please stop. All I want is to talk to you!" he says
My name rolling off his tongue sends shivers down my spine. I try to push my feelings aside and stay tough
"I don't want to see you! Get out!" I yell again trying to push him back out
The big metal man doesn't budge
"Alex, please just stop and hear me out" he pleads again
I give up on the pushing and turn around trying to leave, he immediately grabs my arm and pulls me back to him. I turn and our faces our mere inches apart.
I held my breath and looked into his icy blue eyes which held so much warmth. I stopped fighting this moment and just breathed. Looking into his eyes, I realize he really was back. My heart stopped hurting for a moment and felt complete. This whole time, I've been too focused on him lying to me but not realizing and appreciating that, Ace Anderson wasn't dead after all. The unthinkable had happened, like a miracle, he was alive. I bring my hands up and hold his face, looking into his eyes and him looking into mine. I rub my thumb that was on his cheek and whisper his name with a sad smile.
He brings his face closer and rests his forehead on mine. We both close our eyes and I take in this moment. His lips brush against mine and I don't stop my hand from finding its way to the back of his head.
"I missed you Ace" I whisper
My breathing starts to get heavy and I stop his lips from brushing against mine by capturing them. I push against his head and he claims my lips. His arms snake around my waist and he pulls me closer, deepening the kiss. All my feelings for him come flooding back. All the feelings I had for Liam. All the pain I went through starts to dissolve and I feel complete. Suddenly, I remembered all the lies and everything started to spin through my head.
I moan into the kiss and pull away, pushing on his chest.
"Stop-" I say and turn away
"Alexandra" he intertwined our fingers but I yank my hand away
"I'm sorry I lied. I never meant to hurt you! Alex, I love you. I've always loved you. Please, listen" he says
I turn to face him
"I fell in love too, Ace! I fell in love with Liam! Yet Liam doesn't exist. My whole life for the past year has been a lie. I don't know what to think anymore" I say
"That is exactly why I did what I did. I knew you would never fall in love with Ace. I had to change! I had to become someone else, in order for you to love me. You don't understand how miserable my life was before. You brought meaning to my life, Alex the moment you walked in through the door. I know, I made stupid mistakes and everything got out of hand but please, dont walk out of my life now. Give me a second chance." he says pleadingly looking into my eyes
