And Hera wreathed in grandest sheen
That marks her state as goddess queen.
Did rise from seat to fullest height
With eyes that burned with purest spite

"Your gracious hosting saved your life
From wrathful hand of jilted wife!
My spouse did sire your comely babe
In husbands' arms you've willing laid!"

The youthful mother shook in fear
And watered ground with many tears.
"I knew not man had godlike claim
In fleshly disguise father came.

Presenting self as mortal man
As wrathful goddess former planned.
Remember semblance goddess bore
The cloak of elder chrone you wore.

How wench believed the lies you spoke
Till goddess magic mask was broke."
And dreadful glow did dim by half
Portending goddess lessened wrath.

"I spare the life of wretched knave
On word you knew not fathers name.
Nor state as sovereign over mount
Where gods do live and give account.

Of deeds performed to rule their spheres
To spare the world from dreadful fears.
But still a grant your queen requires
To spare your life from wrath so dire."

And youthful mother nods her head
In fear the god may strike her dead.
If queen's denied requested boon
That spared her life from early tomb.

"No Demi-god has Hera sired
The queen of wedlock's denied desires
By cosmic law to leave the bed
Of king of mount to which I'm wed.

No halfling gods have won me fame
As kin who men do grant acclaim.
For acts their welps performed in life
To help their clans and lessen strife.

So queen of gods remains unknown
No temples carved from granite stone.
Does earth now bear for goddess queen.
Nor murals show my mythic scenes.

I bid your child to bear my name
Performing acts to win me fame.
His role in life a heroes path
That son of Zeus be Heras wrath!
