NOTHING SEEMED right. rosaline quietly made her way over to daryl, unsure of what to do. the girl wanted so much to hug him, but she was trying to be very careful with the baby.

despite that, daryl put his crossbow down and gave her a one-armed hug, trying to calm her down despite his own discomfort. the girl cried her heart out, after seeing her adoptive mother give herself up for them it made her unable to function properly.

rick's mournful sobs didn't help either. the marksman let go of rosaline, approaching rick trying to get him to come back to reality by waving a hand in front of him. he was so paralyzed with sadness he didn't know what was going on.

"rick, you with me?" the redneck queried, trying to make rick snap out of his daze, "rick?"

hershel caught rosaline's attention, "let me see the baby."

daryl gave up trying to speak to rick, "what are we gonna feed it? we got anything a baby can eat?"

rosaline wandered over letting hershel look at the newborn, "good news is she looks healthy." he announced. carl had a ghost of a smile on his face, still unable to process some information, "but she needs formula, soon or she won't survive."

daryl slung his crossbow on his back, "nope. no way, not her. we ain't losing nobody else. i'm going for a run." he announced.

"i'll back you up." maggie offered straight away, "rosaline can stay here to take care of the baby. i know she'd normally go with you but...."

     glenn nodded, "i'll go too."

daryl agreed with them about rosaline staying put. she didn't bother to argue. she was too much in misery to do anything of that sort, "okay think where we're going. beth." he gestured to the blonde taking her over for a quiet word, "kid just lost his mom. his dad ain't doing so hot and his big sister has a baby on her hands. judging by the looks of it, she's in a shock. lookout for 'er."

"i'll look out for them," she reassured.

"you two get the fence, too many pile up we got ourselves a problem." daryl instructed the two prisoners, "glenn, maggie, vamanos!"

in the background, rick picked up a hatchet. he was going to go look for lori's remains. there were still walkers lurking in the tombs. maggie was concerned, "rick!" she called after him.

     no answer.

the redneck had taken leadership over the group. if rosaline wasn't stunned, she'd have tried to help out the best she could. although, lori's dying wishes rang true. this baby had to be taken care of.
