On nights when omens well align
And give the goddess goodly signs.
To room of child she quietly creeps
To take the boy when all do sleep.

And whisk the child to highest mount
Where stars did shine in greatest count.
Their nursing babe on goddess milk
To lend him strength of godlike ilk.

And many times repeats this act
In hopes it strengthens goddess pact.
She made for child to bear her name
So mortal men may learn her fame.

One night she took the babe to nurse
And dreadful wind did blow like curse.
Across the rocky peaks it howls
As starving lion hunting prowls.

And spies in field it's perfect prey
A heifer leading calf to graze.
And falls on helpless lonesome pair
In hopes the flesh of calf to tear.

If gales that night had gained their way
They'd make the tops of mountains sway.
But god resist the brutal squall
That sound to ears like screaming call.

For blood and death and flesh that's torn
Did cry the wind of chaos born.
Yet god of mothers stands her ground
And yields not child to winds that pound.

And babe with jolt his nurse does bite
In childish fear not angry spite.
And Hera pulls the babe from breast
But still on arms he gentle rest.

And milk that spills by wind is caught
And up to stars is quickly brought.
Their splashed across the canvas high
To stain the parchment white with dye.

A mark that's seen to very day
And men still call it Milky Way.
"No wind of nature born may fight
With fury bore by gale this night!

What eerie force does bring this spell
I bid to goddess purpose tell!"
And wind with greatest fury blew
For moment dreadful aura grew.

And harshest voice like thunder spoke
The skies it shook and earth it broke.
"I ask you toss the babe from sky
To rocks below where welp will die!

I've seen the man that child becomes
In vision dark of future glum.
He slays my children one by ones
With mighty feats and battles won.

And rids the world of monster kind
At least the beast I claim as mine."

And Hera fled from dreadful voice
To hide the babe her only choice.
