Terror.
Complete and utter terror.
That's all you can feel when you're lost in the dark, a pressing blackness that only amplifies the fear rushing through my veins.

It seemed like no light ever has, or ever will, penetrate the inky blackness.

Terror.
Fear.
Pain.
The other thing I was aware of. A dull ache spreading through my head. Agony searing my ankle. Something sticky and wet spreading down the side of my face, drying in my hair, smelling of salt and rust.
Blood.
I wanted to cry out for help, but I was afraid that the everlasting darkness would swallow up my words.
Help will come. My friends will come.
I had to hope, as I sat suspended in the dark.
