~Chapter 15~

Scarlett's POV

Garret sped up even more and I clutched the leather seat.Giovanie takes out his phone and connects it to the car.It rang for a while before Lucien's voice booms through the car.

"Giovanie,what the hell is going on?Where's Scarlett?"he asked just as  another gunshot was fired.I yelped and slide down even further in my seat.

"The Russians,sir.There are about three SUVs following us and they are armed,"he says into the phone.

"Damnit.Okay there should be guns under the seats or in the glove compartments.Get Scarlett out of there as soon as possible,"he says and Giovanie begins looking for the guns.He found them stacked in the compartments with loose bullets.

He loaded the gun and looked at me.

"Cover your ears,"I did as I was told and crouched down as I covered my ears.He held the gun out of the window and fired shots at our pursuers.The car he shot skids to the side of the road and crashed.

"Princess?!Are you okay?"I hear his faint voice and take my hands off my ears.

"Yes,but Lucien, where the hell is my dog?Why didn't your men bring him when they moved my things to your place?!"I yelled over the gunshots and sound of tires screeching.

"Scarlett that isn't important right now.Do you know how to handle a gun?"he asked and I shook my head before remembering he couldn't see me.

"No,I don't think so,"I said and heard him sigh.

"Okay just take a gun and distract them enough so Garret can take another route and Giovanie can get a clear shot,"he says and I groan.Giovanie tosses a gun over to me and I yelp.

"Princess pull the top of the gun back and you'll hear a click.Keep it steadily in your arms and point at the target.Pull the weird little-"I lowered the window before he could say anything else and released myself from the death trap called a seat belt.

I sat on my knees on the seats and poked my head and arms out of the window.I saw a guy also with his head out of the window and do exactly what Lucien told me.I cock the gun and keep it steady, although my adrenaline is pumping so hard that I'm shaking really badly.

They haven't noticed me yet so I aim for his chest and pull the trigger.The bullet pierces through his shoulder and I quickly duck in again.Realization dawns on me and I looked down at the down in my shaky hands and shook my head.

"I shot someone...I shot a man!"I exclaimed and heard Garret chuckle.

"Okay princess that's enough.Stay inside the car with your entire body.You're almost at the estate,"he said and I sighed but stick my head out the window and fired a shot again at their windshield.The glass shattered as the car swerved.

"Yay!"I cheer and sit properly again and wait for the adrenaline to wear off.

"What did I fucking say,Scarlett?"he stresses out and I slide down in my seat.I see that we are close to the mansion and Giovanie sat  back down.

The gates are opened immediately when we speed directly through them.We parked behind numerous cars and our pursuers were nowhere in sight.

I see Lucien climb out of a Porsche and stalk towards me.He picked me up and hauled my rear into the mansion.He didn't say anything as he carried me and I just slumped in defeat.

"I'm sorry for risking your life,"he breathed out as he stepped into the elevator.I sigh as I wiggle in his grip and pulled myself out of his hold.He let me down on my feet and I glared at him.

I looked at him long and my eyes subconsciously dart to his luscious pink,plump lips.I breathed out and I see him gulp.

"Where's my damn dog Lucien?"I ask and I am not answered by words but rather his lips crashing down on my own and I gasp.Sparks and goosebumps appear all over my body.Our lips moved in sync and he tilted my head back to deepen the kiss.I open my mouth and his tongue plunged into my mouth and a whimper escaped me.

I broke the kiss to breathe.We were both panting heavily and he leaned  his head against mine,looking into his striking eyes.Butterflies filled my stomach as he held eye contact.

"I'll find him if you kiss me like that again.You drive me mad woman.I can't seem to get enough of you,"he tucked my hair behind my ear and pulled me closer by my waist.

"Right back at you,"I said before pulling him down for another kiss.
