"we do. we shared the same job before." as the other three began to chat around, y/n sat in silence. "small world..." she heard them say. It was unbearable for her. She kept wondering if xiaojun was about to humiliate her again. "I need some fresh air." she walked away. xj slightly flinched as if he wanted to stop her.

Even if she screamed at herself to leave that place, she couldnt. The day was special for hendery. she couldnt abandon her precious friend just for some jerk who suddenly decided to show up. with nowhere else to go, she made her way to the roof. while leaning on the wall, she let out a long sigh.

xiaojun's last words were running around her mind. In these past days she didnt even think of him. which turned out better than anything to her. but what now... now that he's their friend, he will constantly hang around with them. her day couldnt get any worse than this.

not long after, she heard someone walking up the stairs and turned to look back. It was none other than the last person she wanted to see right now. "I know you probably hate me but let me explain." his words seemed sincere but not enough to keep him going.

"What else is there to say, you said enough that day. " she turned away since it came out too hard for her to face him.

xiaojun continued with the same lack of confidence. "I had family problems that day and then the school's messed up things... I couldn't think straight. so I've ended all this on you - I know it wasn't the right thing to do-"

"Im not some punching bag for you to vent your anger on me. none of those excuse gives you the right to do that."

"I didnt mean anything I said to you that day. I truly regretted after you left. please forgive me." the silence remained with both of them standing still.

"It's too cruel of you to ask for forgiveness now."

"then I'll make myself worthy of your forgiveness."

most of the students were drunk in their excitement. they drank repeatedly. grace tried to force ten to drink but he refused. It was absolutely not the type of place where he wanted to be. he could easily figure out those fake faces around him. they were nothing but discomfort.

He looked around the place to find her seat empty. the moment he wallked in, no other person was shinning brighter than her. It was impossible for him to not notice her. but the empty seat now made him dissappointed.

"I'll head to the restroom." he told grace between the loud cheerings and walked away from the place. It felt peaceful than ever. being surrounded with those two-faced people was the last thing he wanted now.

after a few while of looking for her, he finally saw her stepping down the stairs. a smile flashed across his face. It was just the person he wished to see. but on the other hand, his appearance was not welcomed by her. She was surprised to see him. When they stood in front, another person stepped down the stairs.

They knew each other well enough to prepare for the worst.

"y/n, what a surprise to see you here." ten spoke out in excitement, deliberately ignoring the presence of third person between them. he didnt even want to recall how much of darkness they held with one another. "lets talk somewhere else." but before they could, xiaojun spoke out, "arent you lee ten?". as he turned to acknowledge his presence, the other walked ahead.

They fiercely stared into each others eyes. "remind me how I know you." XJ laughed it off as a joke, 'acting strangers? very well. let me play along.'

"you may not know me but I know you really well." he slides his hand around y/n's shoulder to possess whats his. he stared in amusement as the other's eyes burned in rage. y/n stood silently, not being able to do anything in response. the air around them felt stiff and cold.

just then, grace walked in. she took a quick read around the situation. "Aww, what a lovely couple." her hand tightens around ten. he felt annoyed and irritated. but remained to stand still. the glaring battle between xiaojun and him ended at last. the other broke it off with a smile. "Shall we go, y/n?" with her approval, they walked off.

"You two go ahead. we'll catch up later.", sicheng waved only at hendery and proceeds to walk the other way.
y/n couldnt care any less about his misbehaviour. she felt like a lot happened tonight. Nothing other than a good night sleep could calm her mind.

with none's notice, xiaojun reached out to hendery, "walk her home safely." he said in a sharp voice. "I will." the other obediently replied and ran off.

Sicheng stood puzzled as he couldnt bring himself to believe what he just heard, "Is this a joke or what! how could you get attached with a girl like her! Is she a replacement for you?"

"I am not replacing her!", xiaojun shouted back. "She can never be replaced."

"right, you're not.", the other repeated in sarcasm.

"For how long do they know each other?", XJ calmly asked while reffering to 'ten'. it didnt take long for sicheng to figure out. "lot longer than us."

"Make sure they dont see each other anymore."

"are you really going to this extent for her?"

"She's going through the same thing. I cant let it happen. I'll stop her before it's too late...again"
