....................................................

"When I decided to trust you,
I felt a bit afraid

Now that I started to love you,
I can't believe it was worth all the pain"
....................................................

Her footsteps stopped a few metres away from where he sat.
Her eyes fixed on that spoiled bad boy everyone was talking about.

He had a cigarette placed between his fingers.
Clouds of smoke surrounded him as he casually sat on the steps on the backside of the school building.

Fights, drugs, illegal activities
Everything she never wanted her brother to be like, he just became that.
And she couldn't help blame herself for this.

If she would have not left her, he would have never turned out to be like this.

Gulping down her saliva she managed to take a step forward, his head turned predicting someone's intrusion in the harmony of his silence.

His stare said it all

He hated anyone's presence in this garden of silence, especially hers.

Ignoring his not so welcoming look, she awkwardly waved at him and sat down on the stair.

"What are you doing here?"

His words were rude, but she decided to ignore it.
The smoke of his cigarette made her cringe in discomfort and he noticed this.

Offering her his cigarette, he smirked at her.

"Wanna try?"

Her eyes shifted between the cigarette and his eyes.
Mischief and arrogance were evident in them.

"No thanks...I don't"

Rolling his eyes at her, he placed it between his lips.

"Aren't you a goody-two-shoes kind of a girl? Quite boring for Daniel's taste. Like seriously what does he even like about you?"

Her heart stopped
He knew
He knew about her relationship with Daniel.
But how?

"How...how do you know?"

A small smile lingered on his lips as he gave her a boring look.

"To be honest I know much more than that. The view from his balcony is nice..right?"

He was really dangerous
So he really knew everything.
Silence remained for a few minutes as she debated on asking the next question.

"You shouldn't smoke... it's not good for you"

He laughed at this.
Her forehead had creases as she tried understanding what was funny in this.

"I like doing things which are not good for me"

"Why? Don't you love yourself?"

He sobered listening to her words.
Mischief vanished in thin air as reality settled in.

"You learn not to when no one loves you back. Love is just an illusion...a bloody mirage which looks real from distance.
But when you go closer you realise it was just your fuck** up mind and nothing else"

She couldn't help contradicting his words.
He was wrong....he should know how powerful love is.
She loves him and will love for every second of her life.
She wishes she could tell him this.

But who was she kidding?
He would never believe her now, not after she left him when he needed her the most.

His eyes were distant as he said these lines, she could clearly see the pain in them.
