Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Suspicions

Naruto had sat in the same spot for what had seemed for an eternity, however it was only a mere ten minutes. Constant tears flowing out of his tearducts and muffled sobs that escaped his mouth.

It hurt, it hurt him so much. Having lost a person he deemed as a true family member, it hurt. Hidan's words had been embedded into his mind as well as his grin and all their memories.

Naruto sniffled and wipes away the remaining tears that stained his cheeks. He looked up at the clear blue sky. Even though he knew Hidan wasn't dead, he still lost him.

"Goodbye, big brother Hidan." He said smiling a little as he slowly stood up and walked away from the area.

After dealing with Kakuzu, Shikamaru and the others set out to find the missing blonde that had defeated Hidan. It took time, but Sasuke, who had joined the fray not too long ago found the blonde on the ground, unconscious.

"Guys!" He called out.

Everyone re-grouped with the Uchiha and were glad to find their friend, safe. "Wow, he looks pretty beat up." Sasuke said as Kakashi picked Naruto up.

"Well obviously. It's a lot harder to deal with an Akatsuki member by yourself, y'know?" Choji asked already munching on chips.

"Come on, the sooner we head back the sooner we can report this to the Hokage." Shikmaru urged. Everyone nodded in agreement and left.

It took some time, by time, two nights and three days to arrive at Konohagakure. Once the team had arrived they immediately headed to the hospital, all but Kakashi who had gone to report to the Fourth Hokage about the mission.

"So? How did it go?" Minato asked placing his pen beside the paper and directing his attention to the silver haired man before him.

"It was successful. Although without Sasuke's and Sai's aid we would've struggled to eliminate Kakuzu." Kakashi explained.

"And Hidan?"

"Naruto had eliminated him alone. It seems that Shikamaru had a backup plan just in case Naruto couldn't handle him." Kakashi answered.

"I see..." Minato said. "Did you find anything new about Naruto?"

"From the Intel I gathered from my clone... I believe Naruto is somewhat related to the Akatsuki," Kakashi explained, "by that I mean in terms of family, probably."

"So you're saying that Naruto could be related to the Akatsuki?" Minato asked and Kakashi nodded.

"Thank you Kakashi, please keep an eye on him. We still don't know if we can trust him. I'll also have someone else approach him." Minato said.

Kakashi nodded. "You're dismissed." Minato finally said and the silver haired man disappeared in thin air.

~Time Skip~

Sakura hummed to herself a merry tune as she strolled through the bustling streets of Konohagakure, on her way to the hospital to see Naruto. She soon arrived and made her way to Naruto's room.

When she entered the room she was met by an empty, peaceful room.

"Eh?" She let out and walked to Tsunade's office, not too far from the front of the hospital. Upon arriving she knocked on the door, gently. Once she heard her Sensei's voice she slowly opened the door and peered into the room.
