Elinor was sprawled out on her bed, unbothered by the lack of coverage her blanket was giving her. She held her phone up as it buzzed.

Incoming Call: honky cat!
ACCEPT          DECLINE

The girl lazily tapped accept and then put her on speaker. She dropped her phone with a sigh. "What's up?" Ivory questioned with a quiet voice.

"I suck," Elinor groaned, rubbing her eyes. "What I'm gonna say is something you can't tell anyone."

"You got it," The girl confirmed.

Elinor sighed. "Wilbur and I have been dating for
a little over three months and we had a fight. I haven't talked to him in like three days and I haven't slept either," She mumbled.

There was a sudden commotion on the other end of the line. "You didn't tell me Willinor was official? Wow, what a world we live in," Ivory laughed. "All jokes aside, don't stress it."

"Don't stress it?" The girl relayed. "He's probably sitting at his apartment ready to break up with me."

"Please," Ivory strained with a semi-annoyed tone. "I swear you overthink everything. Just chill out, everyone fights."

"I just feel bad about everything. I mean I'm the one who initiated it anyways," Elinor groaned.

"Hey, hey. Don't throw yourself under the bus. I'm sure it's nothing. Just talk to him."

"I don't want to. I'm scared."

"Of what?"

Elinor hadn't really pondered what would happen if she talked to him. She thought for a while. "I guess I'm just scared he'll still be mad. What if he wants to take a break or something?" She asked.

"Then you take a break," The darker haired girl admitted with a bland tone. "And that's okay! Sometimes breaks are good. I doubt it would last long, though."

"Why's that?" Elinor mumbled into the microphone
in her phone. Ivory hesitated.

"You guys are the perfect couple."

Elinor sighed at the statement. Ivory had a point: Little things ticked them off but there was really nothing that could get between the two for long.

"Yeah," The blonde trailed off. She took her off of speaker, regaining her grip on the phone. "Thank you."

"Cheer up," Ivory exclaimed. "And get some fucking sleep."

"Yeah, yeah. You too," She murmured. Ivory let out a breathy laugh across the line.

"Please, sleep is for the weak," She giggled. Elinor lazily laughed along and they ended the call. The silence of her room once the call disconnected was a lonely one.

Her thoughts were racing as guilt washed over her body. She glanced at the ceiling.

How much pain am I willing to put Wilbur through to help myself?

...I don't like feeling like this anymore.

Elinor grabbed her phone once more, pulling up Messenger with a huff of a breath. She shook her head and began typing, careful as to not hit send halfway through.
