❪ so wattpad loves making me angry and messed up the original chapter on my phone, so i had to delete, thank god i had the chapter saved on my google docs. ❫

"For the last time, I wasn't thinking about anyone but the fans!"

George slammed the lid to the laptop closed, essentially cutting off the recording of his voice. He had finally uploaded his first-ever YouTube video which was a cover of Line Without A Hook.

He had seen a variety of tweets and tiktok videos claiming that he would sing the song well and decided to give in to their wants and recorded a cover of it which had just been uploaded to YouTube. Now, the members of BTS were doing what they did best, teasing him non stop.

"You sound like you have a specific person in mind," Jungkook told him with a smirk.

"I sound like a singer who is singing a romantic song," George told him with a dramatic eye roll. "It's not dedicated to anybody but the fans. Namjoon, tell them!"

George gestured for Namjoon to help him out, only to be met with complete silence. Whipping around, George found Namjoon pressing his lips together tightly.

"Seriously Joon? You too?"

"I mean, it would make sense for it to be dedicated to you know...Jin caught you almost kissing and now you've uploaded a romantic cover to your YouTube-"

"Hold on, pardon? Jin told you about that?" Namjoon nodded and George turned to Jin.

"WHAT? I WAS EXCITED, SUE ME."

George threw his head back and let out a heavy sigh. "Fine. Maybe I did have Chungha in mind when I was singing, but the cover is still dedicated to Army. Okay? Now, will you please leave me and my love life alone?"

All of the boys nodded innocently, throwing their hands up in defence to let him know that they wouldn't bring it up any longer. George sighed and sat down on the sofa, grabbing his fresh cup of tea as Pluto curled up at his side.

"Did you two actually end up kissing th-"

"TAEHYUNG!"

"Alright, I'm Sorry!"

Later on that day, George had headed to the studio and was working on some lyrics when his phone rang. Pushing his chair back, he grabbed it off of the sofa behind him, petting Pluto's head before going back to his desk.

"Hello?"

"Um, hey!"

George's cheeks flushed and he subconsciously fixed his outfit despite her not being able to see him. His eyes lit up. "Chungha! Hey."

"Sorry for just calling out of the blue but I just wanted to call and tell you that I just heard your cover and I wanted to just let you know how amazing it was! I got goosebumps!" She rambled and he could see the smile on her face.

"You really liked it?" George asked, hope dripping from his tone.

Chungha's melodic laugh sounded from the other line. "Of course I did. You are amazing- I mean your voice is amazing."

George bit his lip fighting back a grin. "Thank you. It was um- didn't you once say you liked when I got confident?"

Chungha paused. "I did, why?"

George felt a bit boost of confidence run through him. "I thought of you when I was recording it."

Taken back by the confession, Chungha's cheeks flushed and she thanked the heavens that she didn't choose to FaceTime him. The last thing she needed was him teasing her for being shy around him. Smirking, she decided to play him at his own game.

"So I'm living in your head?"

George caught onto her teasing tone. "Rent free."

"Oh, so what you're saying is that you, George Lee, are a simp for little 'ole me?"

George scoffed. "Don't get ahead of yourself, darling. I'm a simp for Park Jimin and Park Jimin only."

Chungha couldn't hold her laughter, feeling the happiest she had felt in days.

"Well then maybe you should dedicate a song to him then." Chungha pretended to be annoyed.

"I did, who do you think Fallin on my mini album is about?" He joked.

She scoffed. "Looks like I have some competition for your heart then. I'm going to have to up my game. Tell me, how do you like your eggs in the morning?"

"You blow all of the competition out of the water, but why you're asking, I like scrambled."

If someone told Chungha last year that in 2020 she would be dating with George Lee and flirting shamelessly with him after being told he thought about her whilst singing a romantic song, she probably would have laughed in their face.

And if someone told George that this year he would be serious about someone and finally able to move on, he wouldn't have believed them.

It's funny how life works, isn't it? The most unexpected things happen at the most random times. Life may tear us down, but it also gives us many blessings and for George, Kim Chungha was a true blessing.
