BONUS CHAPTER II: Parallel Worlds

Six Years after the Second Wizarding War

CROSSOVER EVENT
[Davina x. Lionhearts]

This chapter officially begins the crossover event between this book, Lionhearts, and my other HP fan-fiction book, Davina. See my author's note on Davina for an in-depth explanation, if you haven't already. The crossover chapters in Davina may be read in Lionhearts under the name of "bonus/crossover chapters" and should be considered spoilers to both books of you have not read both. These chapters will act as a sort of "mini sequel" of 3-4 chapters to Lionhearts within the same book, with the added plot of Davina tied into it.

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Lionhearts exists in a parallel world to Davina, in which Harry Potter had a twin named Lily Rose Potter and the girl who is known as Davina Malfoy does not exist. This crossover takes place nearly six years after the Order wins the Second Wizarding War in Lionhearts. The war still rages on in Davina.

Six Years after the Second Wizarding War

THE WAR IS NEVER OVER.

This is a difficult truth that Lily Potter-Weasley has had to learn over and over. She learns it each night when she is haunted by crippling nightmares and when awakes to face the ghosts of her past -- the ghosts of those who had to be left behind. No matter how much she tries to heal and move on, she knows that a part of herself will always be left twisting in the whirlwinds of that godforsaken war. She lost so much in that war, but also managed to save much more -- it is for that reason that she cannot bring herself to regret the choices she made in order to survive.

She has her children now. Molly Hermione Weasley and Severus Knox Weasley, named after two of the most important people in her life, are her pride and joy. Whenever she has a particularly tough day or is reminded of the demons that linger in the shadows, ready to subdue her, she takes one look at them and remembers why everything is worth it. Her loving and devoted husband, Fred, never fails to put a smile on her face and inspire a laugh from her lips even when she thinks it's impossible. It is why she loves him, among other things.

Lily never forgets to remind herself of how fortunate she is in comparison to other people who did not survive the war. She thinks of her beloved godfathers, Remus Lupin, Dobby, Dean, and the very woman whose room she now occupied -- Nymphadora Tonks. Tonks was so young when she fell to death alongside her husband, Remus, leaving their poor infant son orphaned just liked Harry and Lily were as infants. Although Teddy Lupin had a village of people to love and support him, Lily sometimes found herself grieving over the life he would live -- because even in a life full of happiness, there would always be that small ache for the parents he never truly got to know.

"My name is Lily Potter-Weasley. I am twenty-three years old. I have two children: Molly Hermione, she's four; and Severus Knox, he's three. I have a husband who loves me, and a brother I adore." She inhales a deep breath and closes her eyes. The old wallpaper rubs against her skin like sandpaper as she presses her back up against it. "They are my anchors to this world, to the old me. People say life is fleeting. I know that to be true, but I choose to live the life that has been given back to me. I choose happiness. I choose living over mere survival."

Today is the six-year anniversary of the end of the Second Wizarding War, and it weighs on her like a thousand-ton weight. The after-effects of the war still shadows everyone in the wizarding world -- not just in memory, but in reality, too. There are still deatheaters out there, rallying in the dark corners of the country as they seek to carry out the evil plans of their long-since defeated Dark Lord. Evil and cruelty didn't merely vanish with Voldemort's demise -- that is something that took everyone a long time to learn.
