Aiden Jones, he appeared in the chapter of my life which was all lovey dovey. So to put it simply, he was my ex. Don't get me wrong, we ended our relationship very maturely. He isn't like a bitter ex or anything, as far as I know.

We only got together because other students and close friends pressured us to. I figured that there was no harm in being with him either way, so I got into a relationship with him.

I knew it was bound to fail, so I never really put in effort when we were together. Aiden on the other hand, took the relationship super seriously. He put in his full effort into our relationship trying to make sure that we would stay together. I still feel bad for not trying to this day, but I knew it wasn't meant to be.

It wouldn't have worked out if I couldn't reciprocate back any of his feelings. I clearly knew that.

That was the past, I was determined never to make the same mistake I made the last time.

"Earth to Y/N," Izzy said as she snapped her fingers in front of my face.

"Yeah, sure totally whatever I don't care. It's all in the past," I said as I continued to look through her guest list.

Soon enough, class started. I was glad I would be able to stop thinking about him and our one-sided relationship.

"Find a pair, this art project will be worth 80% of your grade so make sure you find someone you work well with," our teacher said as he walked in front of the class, "I will not be switching out anyone's partners if they suddenly decide that they cannot work together. Have I made myself clear?"

"Yes Sir," the whole class said in unison. Everyone shuffled to get to their friend's tables, and as expected the slackers came towards my table. I quickly went diagonally over to Tommy's table before they could reach me.

"Sorry guys I've got a partner already," I said as I grabbed onto Tommy's sleeve. They then looked towards Izzy, Jacob and Oliver. The three of them immediately looked away and pretended that they were deep in thought.

As soon as everyone got settled with a partner, the teacher asked a representative to come up to pick out a ballot slip to choose the medium we had to use for the project.

Most of the girls went to front of the class queuing up to pick out the ballot slip.

"Pineapple juice?" A girl exclaimed in shock as she opened her slip.

"Wait, that's the wrong jar," the teacher said as he took back the slip and put it in the jar.

"I'll go back to the staff room to get the right jar, stay here," He said as he quickly walked out of the room with the jar in his hands.

The class burst out in conversations as soon as he left.

"Hey who do you guys like in our class?" Angelica, the girl with long hair asked me and Izzy. Izzy and I looked at her speechless, we weren't that close why would we disclose that information to her?

"Don't worry, it's just so that we know who not to crush on," Another girl behind her, Kayla said. I was still a little uncomfortable with the situation we were in but I looked over to Izzy and she seemed okay with it.

"Oh, then maybe like Jacob?" She said calmly. The other girls nodded and made a silent pact to not express interest in him. It was surprising seeing so many girls support each other. In my previous school once you revealed who you liked, other girls would go after that guy ruthlessly.

"Y/N what about you? Do you like Oliver or something?" Angelica asked me.

"No," I said laughing at her assumption. If only she knew what had happened.

"Then who do you like? Come on there's gotta be at least one guy you're interested in," Kayla said trying to get something out of me. I shook my head and lifted my shoulders. I wasn't about to tell them who I liked, it was information that could be used against me after all.

"Then what's your type?" She asked loudly over everyone's conversations. Some people turned their attention towards us and stared at me waiting for my answer.

"Um- ," I said looking toward the back of the class to see if Tommy was listening in. He was just on his phone, I assume scrolling through Twitter.

"Well?" Angelica asked again.

"Probably like tall, dumb guys," I tried giving a vague answer as I tried not make eye contact with anyone in the group.

"That's basically like every guy in the class," Izzy replied to me in an 'are u dumb' tone. Everyone laughed at her response as it actually spoke the truth. In fact, basically 70% of the boys in class would fit my type if those were my only conditions.

"Okay well, I kinda like," I said as I hesitated to think. What quality did I like about Tommy that wasn't generic? The boy was pretty much the most British person I've ever met. There wasn't much that made him stand out from everyone when I thought about it.

Then it hit me, there was one thing that he was obsessed with that the whole class didn't know about.

"Gamers," I said with a smirk as I looked at Tommy from my peripheral view.
